The tail drift only exists in high HS in idle-up
Rotorstart, a few thoughts:

Please remove the boom and verify the torque tube bearing is in the correct position and off set as per the manual. Secure the bearing how ever you see fit so it does not slide up or down the boom internally.

Install the boom and remove the tail assembly from the boom. Slowly spin the main rotor and see if the torque tube turns true with no wobble. If there is a wobble consider replacing the torque tube.

Was this heli ever in a crash? Was the tail rotor shaft replaced after the last crash (minor or major crash)? If, not replace it.

Are you using a set of tail blades that came from the same package, and not two tail blades from different packages of blades? I recommend using a package of blades with the hopes they are matched or balanced.

Did you mount the Spartan Gyro as per the manual and using the specific mounting foam adhesive square? Mount the foam square to the frame, then the metal plate, then the white thin adhesive tape, then the gyro. The metal plate actually helps with vibration attenuation with this gyro (as per the manual).

Are you using a strap of any kind to secure the gyro? If so, remove it temporarily and test fly the heli. If you take the time to clean all surfaces two times with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel the foam adhesive pads will stick for about 30 years. After 30 years you may want to change the foam pads.

Also make sure nothing is touching the gyro wire for at least 2" from the gyro itself. The manual states this as well.

Remember there are four flight modes that could have left rudder trim: normal mode, stunt 1, stunt 2, and throttle hold. Zero them all out along with sub trim. Then rebind your receiver with the transmitter if using a 2.4GHz system.

There are even more factors to consider, but these are biggies I always cross off my check list and I've never had an issue with tail drift once I ensure all of these are checked.

I had tail drift with my Spartan DS760 this weekend for the first time in a hover. I forgot to reconnect the muffler pressure line. This resulted in the engine running inconsistently. I would have expected a small oscillation, but rather it drifted counter clockwise (to the right). Interesting result. Maybe this will help someone in their process of elimination. My problem was solved with engine tuning._Sam B_
