VBC w/NEO + PushGlo
I'm still on a steep learning curve with the above after years of Futaba and JR.
Is there a way to do the above without the Macrocell app? Also, Throttle Idle Poti #1/2/Fixed...does that show on the screen only with the Macrocell app? I want to select Fixed but I don't see it.
Thanks,
Rich

Well, I was so tired of messing with the CY750s that I took them both out and installed VBar NEOs as I already had VBar in my electrics and like it so much. I chose CY750s because of the nitro setups. Mikado makes a nitro govenor now and its so simple to set up.

Thanks for the help one and all, but I was tired of monkeying with them.

The swashplate looks like GMP or Hirobo. My Cobra had the phasing adjusted by a rod with ball links on each end. One end attached to one of balls on the side of the swashplate. The other end to a ball on a vertical radius arm bolted to the side of the main frame.

Ok. I'm wondering why it works as described on my other identical cy750 and n5c. It was bought NIB as v1.3. Updated to v1.4 and both had different settings. Would re-updating to v1.4 help or even possible?

I'll try as you suggest and will report back. On the road and can't try it until about 9 days.

Thanks Dr Ben!

Yes. I am using a JR 12x Tx, Spektrum AR7010 Rx, Futaba SBE-1 with a SG Reactor Regulator. I used a video that is on Ron Lunds' website that is for Spektrum/JR users. When setting up the equipment I did Inhibit those two channels as explained in the vdeo in the SBus Basic MAP. This to allow adjustment thru the 750 unit as you replied. I have two units in two n5cs I'm setting up and one works correctly.

This one troublesome unit has programmed as advertised; however I cannot get it to revert and stay in AVCS. I can't find anything on the JR12x and the SBE-1 with the 750 being adjustable thru the Tx with CMT, so I'm happy to do it thru the 750 unit and AVCS mode.

Any thoughts or help you can render would be appreciated.

I do set it to AVCS since I'm done programming; however when I recheck it each time as it displays N on the Home screen, it indicates AVCS on the Flight Tuning Map. Also when I setup the SBus EGn and AGn I set them to INHIBIT. I did this to both of my n5cs. One does work correctly. This second one has me stumped.

Well it works on one. I could barely see the swashplate compensate in the opposite direction of the helicopter in any aileron roll or elevator pitch movement. I cycled the Wrk Mode into AVCS in the Flight Tuning Map and the swashplate movement is more pronounced.

On my second n5c, it's stuck in Normal mode. I switch it to AVCS after programming and it indicates N on the Aileron and Elevator axis on the home page and Rudder indicates A.

Any ideas?

Thanks one and all for your support. Ralph just called and we talked for a bit about the trays and the airline business. He had two trays set aside for me all this time but somehow we couldn't connect. But there is a happy ending to this story.

Christmas is coming this week. Ralph is shipping the trays tomorrow, Monday and I'll have them this week. He gave me a Santa Claus deal that no one can match. Sometimes things work out in the strangest way. Plus we are meeting for lunch or dinner in Sept when I'm in Seattle to fly floatplanes. Plus we are going to watch a real Spitfire and ME-109 fly at an air show.

So I've got to say what a great guy and service. I knew he would come thru, but we weren't connecting for some reason. Thanks guys for the posts of support. They were sitting in the shop waiting for me to follow up when he initially called me. He saved them for me all along. They were ready for shipping back last winter. There was a phone issue. Oh well, all is good and what a great guy. FBL Unlimited is one great source.

The second video is the one I saw. After he lands, he speaks about the features and says release in the Fall. The video post was dated in June 2014 so I assume the NEO is released?

I have VBar Control and I read some old guy like me is slowly losing his visual acuity and it would be nice to have it. I don't want to change to Giant Scale airplanes like the old farts in my club. I love rotary-wing flight and have been doing it on and off since 1985.

So are the above 4 varieties available in Europe today?

EDIT: I saw a post after a search that new TX cases with metabolized knobs and rubber switch available March 2015. NEOs available April/May. A redesigned logo 700 Fall 2015.

I watched a video of a demo in Sweden where a self bailout feature would be soon available. The soundtrack said it would be available in the Fall of 2014. The post was made around June 2014. Has any new info been released?

Talked to Ralph tonight and had a very interesting and enjoyable conversation. Much like hanging out at the field where you go to fly but half of the fun is just talking and comradery. He filled me in on the latest with the design and production of the battery trays.

Well Christmas is coming again soon for me and the wait will be over soon and worth it. Going to get two and include other stuff from FBL Rotors because he has had other clever designs come out since I first looked into his battery trays.

Thanks again Ralph!

^^^+1. I'm really pleased with Mikado USA. I wouldn't be concerned that they are the exclusive dealer in the USA. They are also the USA distributor. I've called them and they knew where their shipments were such as in US customs and they give reasonable estimates of when they are receiving kits or parts. Unlike other dealers who say it will ship in one day and it's on your doorstep a week later, they estimate say 5 days and it's on my doorstep in two days.

HeliProz South had a video about vibs and the BX. I have 4 and each one has works quite well. They are on a Rave Env Nitro, Rave 3D, JR Vibe 50, and an old Trex600NP. They all had vib issues, so I bought the automotive molding tape Ron Lund recommends and it took care of all the issues except the Trex. I had to go into the parameter menu and drop the t/r sensitivity down one notch, it was one level below the default which normally works as it did in 3 out 4 of mine. It took care of it.

The vibs affected the cyclic issues. I didn't have a t/r issue except the tail hunted and gain adjustment wasn't helping. The pirouette looks like endpoint adjustment, but I could be wrong. Can't tell if you have a vib that drives the servo to full end throw.

Don't use any thick tape. Use just one thin layer and make sure the BX case doesn't touch anything except the tape. Thick tape will allow the whole case to shake and respond with unwanted commands.

I would:
1) use the the moulding tape if not already and keep it thin one layer.
2) do Setup Menu steps E and F again to be sure it's correct especially F.
3) if you still have a erratic tail like to much gain, go into the Parameter Menu and reduce step D. That helped my Trex. I changed the default steady red to flashing red.

I wouldn't toss it out. It's a good system.

So I knew I would never get my money back for the Pulse batt sticks even though they have never been used and no plugs soldered on yet. I ended up getting a Synergy 7e.

I bought 2 Pulse 12s 5000mah 65c batts. They fit but are too long causing cg problems. So I bought 2 Spyder 12s 4000mah 30c sticks. They fit with some room and are the right length. The specs are on ProgressiveRC website. They come with E5c plugs soldered on already. I'm not concerned about the 30c rating as they have perform better than other 45c rated packs. Sometimes I think manufacturers just say they are rated high "just because". My other Progressive stuff has been great and their service is very good.
Someone told me that the Spyder line is made by Gens Ace, but not sure.

I agree with someone dodging responsibility.

I thought all this aerial photography with models were for angles and views unable with a handheld camera or video cam. If he's close enough to hit someone, then handhold it.

Captrip is correct. The first time is a bear, but once you do it, it's simple and doesn't require the usual find the sweet spot of contortions to work on. The pin is between the main gear and tail gear. Trapped in a molded slot on the bottom of the tail gear. It falls out easily once the main shaft is dropped down a little and the pin is below the surface of the tail gear.

I think it's the ball bearing falling out of the swashplate housing. I sent 3 in and they replaced 2 defective ones NIP. The 3rd was older but good. Bryan at Mikado USA turned them around the same day they received them. Two swashplates we're bought thru ReadyHeli.

rexxigpilot ^^^+1 . You are correct from my study of history.

As far as why I no longer fly MA, I bought MA when the X-Cell first came out, with its wooden radio tray and smoked canopies and all. I had 3 plus later the X-Cell Pro. Great flying helis. The reason I quit flying them was that they were expensive to repair. Not so much the individual parts, but the design. Every sub assembly had too many little pieces to make up the part needed. I had flown Schluter Champions before them. The parts count in comparison were lower with the Champion. Yes I know flying demands were increasing on airframes so newer designs needed to developed, but I felt it was unnecessary in many respects.

Today I fly Mikado and I am amazed how few parts can do the same thing that an Align kit requires so many more.

Black Friday Sale?
I'm new to Ready Heli and Mikado helis, YGE, and Vbar. I bought a Logo 550sx combo with the mini Vbar, YGE ESC, Scorpion motor, Savox servos, and batts and a few other accessories. I'm very impressed with all those products and want another as a backup or a Logo 600 sx 12s.

My question, will RH have a Black Friday sale? Do I have to stand by my computer to get a 10% or more deal or will they stock enough? I'd buy one right now, but you know how it is if you buy something; someone comes up and says they got the same thing but 10-20% off your price. RH sent me a 5% sale coupon ,but it expired before I could get my Logo flying and make any sort of descision.

Thanks.

I want the FAA to protect the airspace from clowns that think they know more than the FAA. There has already been problems from rogue guys that buy their quads from cheap sources and fly in the path of airliners at major airports. I don't care who you are, stay out of the way of established users. You're a Johnnie come lately who wants to play with your toys in everyones established airspace that we have complied with. If you don't want to go by the rules go away.

I made an anti-static wiring kit for my heli with servo wires, small crimped eyelets that bolt to the T/R case and the other ends are captured by two washers and a small screw into the tail boom.

It seems not necessary because Mikado didn't include it with the kit. I called Ready Heli and the tech support said he installed it on his heli, same model, for peace of mind due to high humidity in Florida. This is contrary to dry air usage elsewhere.

This is contrary to what my buddy said about deGraff generators. He said if the tailboom was of composite material more likely. The 550sx has an aluminum tail boom. So I'm confused.

A nylon winged nut holder. The Mikado main frames have a 3mm nyloc nut holder molded to accept a 3mm nyloc nut so you can thread the bolt thru the landing gear cross strut into the main frame. A nylon wing nut could have anyloc nut slip into a similar slot and then used to adjust tension as appropriate to hols a part in position like the tail boom.

Aerialskycam and unclejane are the closest to accurate info. Contrary to what many post here, the FAA does take any type of flying for commercial purposes very seriously. I bet most people posting here have never read FAR Part 1, 61, or 91 or can speak of it with any real experience. The FARs are so intertwined you think "I just want to fly my model and screw the rest of the airspace users".

There's a reason for the 400'ft rule and I bet most of you can't say why. Do you know there are FARs for kites? Tethered and unteathered ballons? Do you realize the paperwork involved to just add a different gauge for another, the difference being the old one was analog and the new one digital? The weight a bird, kite, or whatever that may be hit by a FAR Part 25 aircraft at 250kts below 10,000ft MSL and not a FAR Part 23 aircraft?

I and many others use and comply with FARs in the National Airspace System and I don't want you with your self-center ideas telling the FAA and us how to use the system when we have been using it since the beginning. That's how there is safety of flight within. Not like the highway where every yayhoo can drive on the highways and creat the chaos that has overtaken our US highway system. Can anyone tell when the first lawsuit was filed concerning airspace in the USA?

The FAA doesn't care about modelers flying RC within the AMA code or the Advisory Circular rules on below 400' AGL and 3 miles of an airport and "see and avoid full-scale aircraft or real aircraft", as long as its for educational or recreation purposes. As far as pay is concerned, the FAA is so acutely watchful of "pay or compensation", it's drilled into Private Pilot training. There is a concept called "Public Trust". The FAA takes it so seriously. When a person walks on an aircraft of US registry, they trust the FAA has ascertained that everything is correct, certified, and that nothing is of concern.

If you want to see the real one go the San Carlos airport in the Bay Area. It is a helicopter museum and early local aviation history. Videos of him flying his yellow coaxilal heli around the marshes. His flying platform is also there. Stanley Hiller's prototypes are there. Amazing an 18yr old American boy designed and built his first helicopter.
There was a museum at the Flying Lady restuarant near South County airport in Morgan Hill, Ca. There were early Sikorsky helis like the R5 and R6 and a bunch of warbirds. There may have been a R4 too, but that was 30 yrs ago

Don't know about the facilities available on the Bahamas, but I would do as YSRRider suggests and powdercoat. But anything besides shooting from a rattle can is overkill on a RC heli. Epoxy paint in a rattle can is readily availble at any home improvement store. Just do good prep work which is about 80%.

Bought two last year when they came out, but have been busy at work and not been able to put in my twin N5c builds. Can't wait. Hope they are as easy to tune like my 3 YS50s.

I bought NIB from 2 RC Heli shops, not individuals, 4 Total Gs. Three were upgraded to DSMX by Buzzin Brian and updated firmware. The 1st programmed and flew like advertised. The 2nd and 3rd drifted and I did something to cause the 3rd to not drift anymore and I don't know what it was I did.

The 2nd one, only one not updated, it drifts yet flys great. When I power up the TG, it does it properly, but after the swashplate bounces to indicate it's finished initialising, it does a slow roll to the left to full deflection. I gave up on it years ago and just roll the swashplate to level and lift-off and it hovers like no other. Like it was sitting on flat glass. It flys around flips, rolls and FF extremely stable. I guess cuz I'm commanding some input and I get the desired results. Only if sitting on the ground after power up and no cyclic commands given does it roll left.
Any ideas. Should I RESET and start over the program.

The 4th TotalG I traded with a friend for a used YS engine. Works great.

My Lil Rave 3D flew great and then I put it away for about a month. Took it out and it rolled hard to the left on lift-off. I used only 1 layer as I thought I read that somewhere. Is two the trick? Also does anyone strap them down along with the tape?

I found the 3M molding tape at NAPA auto parts. Threw the blister pack wrap away so I can't remember the part number, but it was hanging with other tape like pinstriping. I think I have the same number as kenb. It was expensive at around $16 for maybe les than 10ft. It won't spoil and should be usable and useful for a long time.

Sorry I thought someone mentioned a possible concern about flapping hinges and boomstrikes. He didn't mention which Concept 30 model he had. I too had Concept 30 SR-X's which had 12mm grips. The earlier models like the DX had 8mm. Also I wouldn't use anything larger than 530mm main blades due to blade weight, T/R interference, and load. The Concept rotor head in stock form was made of plastic and designed to give in crashes. The spindles bent easily and the blades were fiberglass spars with a foam core and plastic covering. If my memory serves me correctly, the paddles were metal. The SR-X and SR-T were plastic. If you use to large a blade, you're putting stress on that plastic head that it wasn't designed to operate at. There was a metal head available from Zeal.
HeliProz has 515mm Mavrrik flybar blades in wood and CF. Like Dave said, get the heli shop to measure the blade root to be sure unless it's OEM or an aftermarket replacement.

We have simple food like hot and moist Tri-Tip sandwiches and chips. Most people don't go to heli fun flys to eat. We all go into town in the evening and morning to sit down and eat good food. We include lunch with registration for the pilots. There is also a problem in some locales that don't allow food to be prepared at places like an RC field and charge for it to the public. That's why we keep it simple.
