RC helis in Iran?
Hi,

Does anyone know if R/C Helis are permitted in Iran?

I may have to relocate to either there or to Kuwait for work reasons and it can be a deciding factor...

Thanks,

Chip

RC flying in Iran
Hi Chip,

Since it was a work-related (read life and death) issue for you, I checked the RC heli pilot locator

I see that there are 3 flyers in Tehran, I dont know whether the address is current or not.

Try and e-mail them

Best of luck.

Lemme know if you ever have to go to Karachi..will have someone take you to the field!

If you do a search by location on RR, you will see that we have one member, H-Ray, who is registered from Tehran, Iran.

If you are in Kuwait, just fly your heli over the border (but make sure to cross the line) and see what's going on. I mean if you can bring your chopper back in one piece., we may think and conduct the second test. If not send the bill to the topic starter.

Heli across the border
Pepper

If you choose to go across the border and try to come back in one piece, make sure you damn well take care of that bin-laden character. If your heli is going to go down, make sure you drive it smack dab into that Fu@k%r.

Rock on man!!!

Hi Pepper,

Kuwait is my second option, might become the first one soon. I know flying RC helis is ok there - any specific regulations to take care?

Are Hirobo parts available over there (locally)?

Thx, Chip

chipichape,
You might be able to fly but the issue for me when I was in Iraq was how do you get fuel over there. Shipping Hazmat is a real pain and even tougher when your trying to ship it to another country. I am sure Iran doesn't have many if any LHS. Flying fields would be easy to find, pull up to any desert and go fly. But you may want to consider a filter for your carb.

Pepper,
There was a couple of Air Force guys flying in Arif jan when I was there.
Credit card can't be max'ed I have more up grades to buy!

Would think that parts support could be a problem and what about fuel? Better stock up...good luck.
