Newbie needs help!
New to RC helicopters. Fly Quads and do boats. Just bought a Blade 230 V2 S from a guy who really screwed it up. I powered it up to see what shape it was in and the blades started spinning with no throttle. Luckily I had a hold of bottom or I would be 9 finger Steve! Anyway, I got the servo and ESC plug ins correct and charged the battery and today attempted to give it a first flight. I have the Spektrum DXe controller and the copter responded fine to the controls but when I give it full throttle in flight mode 0 it spins but will not take off. What gives with that? Then when I switched to flight mode 1 blades started turning on their own with no throttle so switched back to mode 0 again quick and it stopped. Help please.

You were very lucky!

That helicopter goes completely setup and ready to fly from the box... But... By the time you crash it or hit hard the ground... Things will not be the same.

So, the transmitter is setup according to the mechanical adjustment on the heli.
If you are coming from a crash, some adjustment must be done on the mechanical or on the transmitter.

Ok... To helicopter don't lift the ground.
Could be battery exhausted or probably your friend give you a dead battery.

Other reason?...if this little heli is coming from a crash, you need to repair and check correct transmitter setting.

Don't fly this heli till you correct the problem.

About transmitter mode...

Mode 0... You can control rpm of the main rotor. The heli is flying according to stick position.

Mode 1... Mean advance flight mode. Transmitter govern automatically rpm of the main rotor.
Don't mess with this mode.

IMHO... Look for a local club... Flying alone is sad... Very sad and as you can see... Could be very dangerous.

Charged battery before first attempt. How do I adjust transmitter settings. Could servo adjustment be necessary too? The heli responds fine to throttle up and left and right rotation etc but will not leave the ground. I revved up throttle full in 0 flight mode and wont leave the ground. Thanks for your help.

Ok... You are saying that battery is OK.

So, next thing to check is to measure pitch angle.
In order to do that, you need a special tool developed to measure pitch angle at different position of throttle stick.

On idle position, 0% throttle stick or off, you must have - 4.5 degrees, at 50% throttle stick you must measure +5.5 degrees. At full throttle you must measure +10 degrees.

There is a possibility that your heli, for some reason, can't hover because this angles are not set... Maybe consecuences of a crash...

You need a pitch angle tool and the transmitter to do that.

Of course, you need to do all this setting by disconnecting the electric motor!!!

Take a picture of throttle curve and pitch curve on your transmitter.

I don't think your friend could have time to mess with the transmitter setting...
I really think your heli was badly damaged and your friend maybe changed some parts and now... you need to review all the programming on transmitter from scratch.
