Buying an old Benzin Trainer
Ok friends, been out of RC for 10 years, I'm back with Gas airplanes , a friend of mine has a Petrol Benzine trainer in pristine condition that want to sell at a very good price , is it worth to buy it to do a Scale project?

Yes! Well at least I think so. The standard benzin mechanics fit some of the Vario fuselages. My favourite would be the S300 and it “scale” with a gas engine!

Benzin Trainer
Hello,
The Benzin Trainer is a very well made, large, close to bullet proof gas helicopter that's still fully parts supported. I just bought my third on fleabay for a great price and just needed to replace the carb after sitting for several years and she started right up. The second is in pod and boom for lazy all day flying. The third is in a Vario Jetranger fuselage with the on board starter. You should see the looks I get when I start it from the transmitter!! Not knowing what your friends price is, they have kept up their value over the years.
Good luck with your decision..

Welcome back!!

I recently converted a benzin to electric and will be installing it in a Vario 1/6 Jet Ranger.
Gas or electric they are great mechs for scale IMO.

So I get my hands on the Benzin now, beautiful craftsmanship , I'll need help for the set up, here are some questions:
-should I keep the fly bar or change the head to FBL?, planning in the future ordering a scale fuselage for this one , so the head types are different
-The Zenoha has electric start that looks heavy , should I keep that one or change it to the conventional weeder pull start head?

All the help is greatly appreciated

Flybar....
If your going to add the mechanics to a scale fuselage, I would keep the flybar until you choose your scale fuselage
then order the proper head..
These fly "very light" for their size.. I would keep the e-start...
JMHO!!

Hello,
I would fly the fly around head on the Benzin trainer to get used to the way it flys if you never had one before. It’s a large Heli that is extremely stable when setup. I also agree that it flies light for such a large model. Regarding the electric start on the engine, the small amount of extra weight won’t be felt when flying. I have the same setup on a trainer in a Bell 206 fuselage. The looks I get at the field when I start it up from the transmitter are priceless. If you want to sell the auto starter, I’ll buy it...
