gyro control
can anyone tell if there is a gyro that will control two separate sets of mechanics at the same time, bit like the Chinook set up with a complete set of mechanics on each end being controlled exactly the same,

First, lemme say that I have no experience with this type of arrangement. Having said that, I would be real temped to try "Y" harnessing all the functions that would need duplicating. The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

The Bavarian Demon 3SX has an additional mixer to control tandem mechanics.

You need a dedicated gyro.
The main problem is the mix for the rudder.

You need an special gyro to handle that mix or a separate mix circuit working together with a FBL gyro to do that.

It would help to know what the project is ,,, if it isn't a Chinook !??
The only other thing I can think of it V-22 like .?
The Bavarian 3 X as stated before will do the Chinook ... If you are doing a V -22 like ... and doing conversion and need to change roll and rudder in conversion .. then get a rotormast flight controller . I am using one on a larger scratch built V-22 .It uses 3 seperate regular tail gyros .

From Tom Mast ( Mr. Rotormast of the V-22 kit designer)
Actually I had to upgrade to a newer version one on my rotormast V because of Castle changing how their ESC talkes to the motors..so I had an extra one,, but I know he would sell you one , hopefully you could catch him at a good moment and he would discount it some !
Look at his web and download the manual and see if it will do the trick for you. Or PM me for more discussion on what it does.

Ok... No Chinook, no V-22...

So, maybe some "Avatar" experiment?
