Ok.. As I can see, this is a starter motor for helis and planes.

I can see a lipo battery in a separate plate.

Well, I would put the power switch between motor and battery to keep balance assuming vertical operation.

On the other way, thinking about horizontal operation
starting a plane motor, maybe the power switch could be on the side.

The only thing I can see is maybe a push button switch mounted by drilling through the front of the black iron holding the starter motor. That will still leave you with a mess of wiring to deal with.

Another thought is Ebay. On a daily basis Ebay has Sullivan starters for $5 to $10 dollars. Simply cut off the Sullivan battery clamps and solder on a connector that matches your Lipo and be done with it. Handling a starter with a Lipo on a cable three feet away is much easier than trying to handle a starter and battery combo with an oddly placed switch.
The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Borris Mazor (RIP) made a bracket with a handle. You can see the button-switch at the tip of the handle. These are RC boat starters, so not totally usable on a heli. But an idea to ponder anyway.

gentleman, thiers a whopping 1/4 in. bewteen the bracket and motor however I seen some micro switches that might fit, all depends how round the switch mount is...........as for the wire routing , thats the least of my concern.

You need a switch capable of handling the current the motor will draw under load. A microswitch is not going to cut it. You'll do best to find a momentary strap type contact like sullivan uses on their dynatron. Try grainger, mcmaster carr, or tesco

An alternative would be to put the lipo in a project box on the bottom side of that bracket and install a relay in there with it to carry the heavy load, just using a small spst momentary switch to latch it

To get a fine Sullivan starter motor and disassemble by parts and then assembly this starter motor with those parts ...
I don't get it.

I like the idea of a momentary push button switch horn...

My recomendation...

Keep simple.

For example, This is a starter motor made by one of my friend to handle big motors for airplanes...

As you can see, my friend put a car battery, starter motor from a chevi or dodge, big cables, push button, a relay and two handle welded to work with it...

Wow...
