Is Fortune Model Products still in business?
Hello all,
I need some help from my fellow Runryders out there. Does anyone know if Fortune Model Products or FMP is still in business or have contact info? I get something on google but the numbers are disconnected and have sent several emails with negative replies. I’m looking for quantities of the ball links that were the former Rocket City links and afterward FMP links for the 2.0 - 2.3 rods. I have several helis from different manufacturers and would like to standardize the links.
If anyone has any info, please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
kraz

I see Mike post stuff for sale on RCgroups from time-to-time. I haven no idea if FMP is still offering products. You might could try to PM him over there.

Those Rocket City links are the best, though, so I may try to get up with him too.

@jbjones,
Thanks for that. I’ve tried the numbers he has on his website but as I said, they were disconnected. From what I remember from years ago, he was a one man company. Had a day job then did the RC business at night and on the weekends. I remember he asked customers to be patient. Google shows his business address as his house.
I’ve scoured the internet looking for new,old stock and all I’ve found is stuff from closed hobby shops or stuff that didn’t sell. I’ve seen a heli store selling links that look the same as his, both long and short and in neon colors. The quantities are ten to a pack. Not as cost effective as his larger quantities. I can remember a rare instance where there was a problem with his links. He took care of it immediately and I’ve never had issue one with the links from decades ago...

Ebay has some rocket city stuff

Also, promodeler.com sells very similar ball links. You will have to do a search on the website for ball links.

"Our own brand ball links are made from high strength low friction "DELRIN" nylon and suitable for use on 2.0 & 2.3mm pushrods as standard but can also be drilled out to suit 2.5mm and even 3mm control rods."

These GrandRC links appear NOT to be Rocket City links but still of Delrin material. They may have to be resized to fit as well as Rocket City links did! ...
