V-bar + gasser HelloI have experimented a little with a V-bar on an RJX gasser. The vibes from the stock Zenoah 230PUH engine seem to be too much for the V-bar.Experiments were limited to various foam/steel plate/foam variations.I have now flown the heli with a flybar head, the GY520 is swinging the tail due to vibes. I have moved the gyro to a platform right over the crank center. It still swings the tail.Am I doing something wrong, or is my engine shaking more than others somehow?I'm looking into a Whiplash gasser...people seem to fly these on V-bars, I can't imagine they're all ignoring the twitchy swash...![]() |

V BAR From what I understand you seem to be using an old Blue Vbar on this heli? I would switch to the NEO if possible. I too am going to gas and that’s what I’ll be using and I also have friends using the same without any issues. Hope you figure it out.
You have to remember the full size Blue Vbar is old tech. |

It was a damn fine gyro back then. The GY401's / 9254's on my Raptors are old tech, but they still hold the tail just fine.I guess it's just a matter of finding the right foam/steel/foam combo...but a twitching swash on a spinning 700 is no fun ;-)I've got some of the 3mm thick black goo from 3M, it is really soft. Mayby if I stack that 2 layers thick under the steel plate... |

/Vbar works great on gasser. You need to work hard on detecting Vibrations on your RJX helicopter. BTW, RJX helicopter is not a easy place to acomodate FBL gyros.Long push rods, boom support loose, mounting pad, Unbalance rotor, Unbalance blades, Unbalance Fan...Vbar also help you on detecting vibes... If you want, Download the last free upgrade and it would be enough.Don't worry about "old tech"./ |

The stock gyro mount for instance is just a plate that sits in slots in the side frames. It can move slightly in stock form. No good. |

/Well my friend, you have a lot of work to do.IMHO, that gasser works fine with flybarred rotor. With FBL rotor, it is a must, no Vibrations!Vibes and FBL gyros doesn't like each other. If vbar is not working ok, needless to say, it would be very difficult to solve that./ |

Vibration Here’s what you should try too. First of even on my nitro I get those extreme vibration Xs that’s normal. Second hold the sensor and shake it to make sure nothing is loose inside or maybe the sensor could be bad. Just a thought. 3rd buy the mounting tape from Mikadousa.com Put 2 layers on and then if possible strap it down with Velcro if possible but not to tight. That should work. If it doesn’t something is wrong. Maybe a bad bearing somewhere and that will cause major issues. Sometimes you don’t have to crash for a bearing to bad. Make sure no notching in all bearings in the head and bearing blocks.
Hope that works for you. |
