Heli Brands - What's Left?
Doesn't seem much to pick from these days. Last chopper I had was a Raptor 90SE in the mid-2000s.

Familiar with:
Kyosho- done. Now Quest and have to buy from Japan. Looks like they haven't made anything new in 10 years.
Kalt - done.
Hirobo - done.
Miniature Aircraft - done. Someone in Germany picked it up?
Thunder Tiger, on a respirator. Hasn't offered anything new since '12?
JR - done.

The newer brands:
Align - heard the US store was going out of business?
Blade - Seems like the only easily accessible brand to choose from.

Have I been misinformed on any of the brands above?

What else is there to buy that is easy to obtain and good parts?

I'm still scratching my head over all these names disappearing.

From what I understand Quest actually manufactured stuff for Kyosho...so not much of a change. Yes, they have made new stuff in the last decade.
LS1Heli Hirobo - done.
Not quite; Can still buy their stuff at RCJ.
LS1Heli Miniature Aircraft - done. Someone in Germany picked it up?
Not even close to done. A very nice couple in Germany owns MinAir now. They are actively supported. New models and all...
LS1Heli JR - done.
Not accurate, look up deeforce aviation.

Interesting question...
What's left?

On this days, talking about crashes, make me wonder...
Spare parts... I am in a foreign country with very difficult ways to find spare parts.

So, I make a list.

Things you find on the market:
Bearings, shafts, boom, skids, rods, links, bolts, decals, blades, belts, strud, electric, gas and glow motors, tubings, fittings, tune pipe, grips, CF and FG things...

Things that you may have problems, finding on the market:

Special Frames G10 and CF (raptors, trex, etc)
Special Fan shrouds.
Clutch shoe and bell.
Spurs, pulleys, tanks, spindles, flybar mechanisms,

On a heavy heli crash, what things regularly need to be replace?

Then, I realize how interchangeable the spare parts are...

Raptors with Mikado tail grips, third-party main rotors parts,
Links, home made boom, etc.

Also, there are plenties of raptors, trex and other brands fooling around other hangars, so no problem to get one of this helis at a reasonable price to get spare parts.

So, a friend get a brand new goblin RAW and sell his old but "new" raptor and trex... there you are... Cheap spare parts for you.

So, what is left?
I conclude, It doesn't matter.

Saludos cordiales,

RC Japan or Memflight in England, also put a part number in the eBay search, quite a bit on there also. I have three different Hirobo Heli’s I keep flight worthy. I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

Hirobo still very much active. Parts can be had for eagle 3, freya, sdx/scedeau,Turbulence, Lepton, (of course) the Shuttle. All from RC Japan, Kyosho is now Quest, and they have new stuff for f3c.
Miniature aircraft is very alive and producing stuff for most of thier vintage stuff!.
This is my direction for the future! (Maybe not a cheap direction... LOL).
Mikado is fantabulous!
Sab still kicking.
Buy Gaui!! Still Kicking!
Basically what everyone said before me!
