On RC servo motors
Without fail, every customer brings up the question of the motor within our servos, but all servos - any brand - use one of three types; a DC-motor, coreless, or a brushless. Few grok how they're different, and almost none have a clue why you pick one versus the other. So I set out to write;

askJOHN: about RC servo motors - https://www.promodeler.com/askJohn/...RC-servo-motors

Doing it right required me to sacrifice some motors (I cut them apart on the lathe). Why? It's because nothing beats show-and-tell. Bottom line? Whether you favor Futaba, Hitec, or Savox instead of ours, this is solid information everybody should understand before investing in their next set of servos.

Ok... Let me try to understand...

RC-Servos is not only DC-motors.

IMHO, the most important thing inside servos is not the DC motors. The most important thing inside servos is the electronic controller.

Most failures on servos are related to the controller and not the motor. Most of the time, motor is OK and the controller is burn out.

So, when we look for servos, the most important thing is confidence.

The Confidence is made by this couple, controller and motor.
