Can Align 3GX flybarless controller be used with stock JR9303 PCM radio ?
I posted a query about using the Align 3GX in the Flybarless section here but I didn't get any replies . So what I have is a new Align 3GX controller that doesn't seem to switch on when I connect to a PCM receiver from the JR9303 radio (it's not 2.4 Ghz) .I have searched forevever on Youtubes and here and I can't find anyone having used this controller on the older PCM systems , so I'm led to wonder , if only 2.4 Ghz systems work?
Also what do I do with the bind plug ?Is it suppose to the receiver? If so , don't understand ,as there's already a wire supplied linking it to the receiver? Just can't stand this technology.

As far as I know, you can use this 3GX on a FM system.

The main concern is where you connect the battery. 3gx must feed the receiver.

Please, check this video...

Thanks Roj for you reply . I actually did base my wiring on that Youtube clip and did not work. I also searched up Beast X and JR 9303 on Youtube .From what I gather, it appears NO ONE uses PCM radios with FBL equipment. Please correct me if I'm wrong here !

I’m not sure of other FBL systems but my old SPCM system works with a Skookum 360.

Ok... For sure, no one is using pcm with FBL equipment.
You got a point but it doesn't mean you can't program your FBL unit with a pcm equipment.

The key is do the wiring according to instruction manual.

Yes, the 3GX will connect to, and operate with your PCM RX.

The picture below shows the typical hookup (ignore the satellite block).

The 3GX has no idea to what it is connected. The frequency and modulation method used between the TX and RX are irrelevant.

Power plugs into the 3GX, lower left horizontal connector.

The two cables with a single connector on one end and three single-wire plugs hook up to the RX as shown. The three-wire cable with a single connector on each end plugs into the lower right hand horizontal connector of the 3GX, the other end goes to the GEAR connector on your RX. This cable provides power and ground to the RX, and also sends the output of the RX gear channel to the 3GX for governor control if you use one.

Make certain that you have the ground wire (black or brown) on the correct pins of the 3GX and RX connector blocks.

Be careful, however. The 3GX does not tolerate a low input voltage. You should ensure that power never drops (even momentarily) below six volts. This means your PCM receiver and servos must be rated to operate at or above six volts.

Thanks DK for your explicit diagram .I didn't know about the 6 volt supply problem .I WAS using a 5 cell NiMH pack ,but I guess that didn't cut it .No wonder I did not even seen ANY flickering lights on the FBL controller though I did see a light on my synthesised JR PCM receiver. So question now is , how to manage using a higher voltage (probably Lipo 7.4 volt) pack without burning my JR receiver and the connected standard voltage servos (ie the usual older styled digital ones, not the high voltage brushless ones) ?

Thanks

The only way to do that is using a voltage regulator to feed the 3GX.

Regulator of 5.8 volts should be enough.
If you have servos of 4.8 volts nominal, you need to run a step down of 0.7 volts to get 5.1 volts on that servo.

So, a voltage regulator of 5.8 volts and 6 amps should be OK for 600 series helis with a 2S Lipo 2500 mAH.
