recommendations for a servo tester
Can anyone recommend a good servo tester for me? Nothing too off the wall but just a good basic tester. Thanks

I've used these for years. They have three functions. They will cycle the servo completely from side to side, let you control the servo movement anywhere within it's cycle, or position the servo to it's exact center (very useful in airplane/heli set up).

Buy 3 -4 to have one for your field box, shop, etc.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

That one works fine but I just didn’t like the fragile nature of the thin plastic cover. Just my preference as I tend to break things LOL
This one is a few dollars more but more sturdy case etc

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I like the price of the cheaper units but being in my flight box might not survive. The page is bookmarked.

Hi Randall
I made a small insert in the foam of my Tx case for it to reside and keep it as undamaged as possible.

If you want to consider spending a little more money for a comprehensive servo tester, take a look at ToolkitRC ST8 which allows you to test up to 8 servos simultaneously and obtain significant servo performance data including servo amp demand and speed to compare against each other; really good tool for selecting EMS (CCPM) cyclic servos.

any of these accept a 760us neutral pulse? I Would not want to burn up an expensive tail servo. The 8 dollar motion RC and ebay one didnt mention how to change the neutral pulse. Thanks

I have not found any tester that will drive a 760 servo. Also, I have on several occasions mistakenly plugged a 9251/56 into a standard servo system output. Obviously the servo did not function, but neither did I let any smoke out of it.The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Looking for a servo Tester could be difficult.

On this Covid19 days, I found out that an old PCM receiver with a DSC port, works fine as a servo Tester.

In my case, I look for a cable from transmitter trainer port to the DSC receiver port, a receiver battery and a HD futaba switch.

Cost? Zero... All this gadgets were on my pile of things...

Good! Now, I have a servo Tester!

Saludos cordiales,
