Electric retracts in a 600 size Funkey Bell 222? Has anyone tried it?
Has anyone tried fitting any of the electric retracts in the Funkey 600 size Bell 222? Would think they would be so much easier than trying to set up the linkages for mechanical setup.

Thoughts?

Absolutely a great idea!!! I have done several using the retract units from HK and making up my own gear legs from wire and brass tubing...a bit of silver solder and you will be good to go....This is a 700 sized heli..
If you do a search on HK site use 225000018 to locate what I used.. Check the mounting plate size to confirm you can fit them in place of the mechanical units... I like the metal trunuon type..
Hope this info will help you out..

Better idea than mechanical linkage.

For some reason, the mechanical linkage is kind of weak and the latch doesn't work well.
On the other way, if you need to work on mechanical linkage, you need to pull out the whole helicopter frame... No way!

I use electric retracts in a few of my scale helis but in a very unconventional way

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft
