Mars Perseverance Rover
The rover is also carrying a small helicopter named Ingenuity, which aims to be the first aircraft to fly on another planet. Pretty cool
Gravity's a bitch ant it?

Cool yes, flawed more so... JMO.
the blades are made of laminated carbon fiber... a lot like our heli blades... however the gel coat is very thin... Due to weight reduction.
The blades will be spinning at about 2400-3000 rpm...
The issue is I believe that they forgot about the abrasive nature of the sand/dirt/dust when taking off and landing...
This will quickly erode the leading edge of the blades especially closer to the outer edge.
My basis for this the the issue many wind generators are experiencing with leading edge delamination due to sand and salt spray.
My guess is the blades will last long enough to test the feasibility of heavier than air aircraft like rotor and fixed wing. Which is the whole point according to NASA

Thats a good point but longevity might not be the biggest concern... It will probably out last the need as is.

Anyway, it be awesome to be the guy who built it/ worked on/ or hell, were just a part of it.

I'd say they can fly the blades off it if they want to.

Anyway props to those guys

I’m thinking that the scientists that figured all of this out probably know a hell of a lot more than our “opinions”.

I could be wrong but I highly doubt it !
Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Remember when 3 astronauts died In a fire on a plugs out test? Scientists apparently forgot that the 100% oxygen environment was extremely flammable...

Just cause they are scientists doesn’t automatically mean they have common sense or experience.

Yep , it’s easy to point out the occasional failures but you clearly forgot about all of the successes !
