Thoughts on Portland? Help or let it burn?
For a while now, I felt like getting the Marines on line and clearing out Portland. Then I started thinking...'Do they really want help?' I mean, are the PEOPLE OF PORTLAND asking for help?

I say this because many times in my past, I have not wanted to help other countries until THEY help themselves. This light went off in my head today as I read what is happening there and started to work myself into a fury.

So, what do you think? Let them burn? Help them now, or wait until they ask for help?

I know one thing about people, it takes a lot to change some one. they have to change their selves or they will go on to be the same.

so I agree, shut them down

It will burn unless the people there stop it. They don't seem to care and the mothers of these adult children are all for burning it down. So let it burn after the Feds get out. Cut all federal funding and let the people fend for their self. If it isn't beating the air up it isn't flying

Well, if this was 1861 and Abraham Lincoln was President, we would send in Federal troops to enforce Federal law. The Civil war was fought over Southern States unwillingness to comply with Federal law. There was a long list of Federal laws Southern state found they could not and would not live with and as a result, tried to form the Confederated States of America (CSA). That didn't sit well with Constitutionalist of the North and we fought a war. A war of Federal vs States rights.

I find it ironic that the vandals in Portland (I refuse to call them protesters) don't seem to see the parallels between the civil war of 1861 and themselves - and they are the Confederates. They are the modern equivalent Robert E. Lee.

Back to your question... I don't see any future in rolling in tanks - not yet at least. I also believe if we let the minority vandals turn Portland into a ****hole, it will become my responsibility to repair it when this passes. More correctly, it will become my children's. So there are mixed messages.

At the moment I would be content to do the minimum and allow the anarchy to continue until the people of Oregon themselves see the stupidity. In effect, do (almost) nothing. I'm not advocating letting the vandals continue to burn Federal buildings. That needs to stop immediately. I'm suggesting letting this continue until the voters of Oregon decide they don't want to live like this any more.

Maybe female and lesbian aren't the only requirements for Governor (Oregon) or Mayor (Seattle, Chicago)?.?. Possibly there are other traits necessary for leadership?.?.

WJVAIL, in general, I agree with you. Again, I say let it burn, burn all the way down if the people don't want to do anything, so be it. BUT DO NOT spend ONE FEDERAL TAX DOLLAR to rebuild the cesspool.

Love him or hate him, he is our only chance to keep American what it really is...if he looses, God Help Us All. You might as well bury the Constitution in a time capsule to keep it safe. I do think it will be on the radar if the left wins. Notice, I didn't say Biden or the Democrats. There are no more true Democrats and Biden is just a hand puppet.

If we do not hold on to the White House and the Senate, then the there is a possibility that the entire country could look like this.....

People are starting to wake up to what is going on. More or less were woke but came awake to all the riots and burning when it came to their house. Portland mayor is getting scared that they will burn him alive in his own home now. If it isn't beating the air up it isn't flying

Do you have a reference for this? Wasn't it just a few weeks ago Ted Wheeler was lining up with protesters denouncing the actions of federal agents?

The above is from post number 5. The chances of restoring good order and discipline are much greater if the people of Oregon decide for themselves they've had enough. Law and order, if it returns, will be much more lasting if it isn't immediately imposed by an outside entity (i.e. the Federal Government). I would go on to say that law and order will return as it is clearly in the right and the anarchy you are seeing in Portland is clearly unacceptable. I believe what we are see in Portland and elsewhere is only hurting their* chances of achieving their goals (whatever that is).

* I think is would be worthwhile identifying who "they" were, who is funding "them", and exactly what is "their" mission statement.
