John Wayne; taken down by his own words
I am very disappointed to hear that John Wayne felt less of some people just because of their skin color and lack of schooling. I am now wondering just what he thought of the Native Americans, that was here in America first.
I would think that there was many people of color that liked and looked up to John Wayne, but I have to wonder what they think of him now.

I wonder where hate stop's for some people. I mean does it stop at 25% white ? or 50% white, or 75% white, or 90% white ??
you want to know what the greatest thing in my life would have been for me ?? it would have been to know and talk to my 100% Black Foot Native American grandfather. he died before I was born. he was a Horse Soldier in the Army, John Wayne only made military movies.

John Wayne has been one of my hero's since I was a child (his characters always will be). Unfortunately, he is no longer. But what he said, what he thought was common for that time period. Be honest about your own family, what you witnessed and what you heard growing up (and possibly still do). He was a Hollywood Elitist, and Elite he was. Ernest Borgnine once said in an interview, that unless John Wayne gave you a nod, you wouldn't get much work in Hollywood. Doesn't make it right, it just 'was'.

This 'woke' culture better start looking real deep into every ones 'color'. Hate is colorblind. Hate is sexless. The wheel of hate will continue to spin and grow, until we evolve.

But we also need to see thru the 'smoke and mirrors' that is being blasted from every radio wave and TV signal, as well as the net. Our past is who we are....try to erase it and we will become it again. Germany is learning that about the Nazi culture....

My grandmother on my fathers side hated my mother. She told my father that she wasn't good enough for him. You know why? Because she was German, and My mom's grandmother was mostly Native American. As a kid, I just didn't get it. Why?

One of my very good friends growing up was black. We had so much fun together, but I couldn't go to his house. Why? Because I was white. My other best friend was Vietnamese, Do Chi Vi, his adopted name Jimmy. One of the best human beings I have ever known. He never got a date because once the girls' fathers found out he was 'Asian', that was it.

Its in our nature, and we must strive very, very hard not to let it take over our minds, our souls.

Hate is so powerful, that it convinces a Soldier of the Japanese Empire to bayonet a baby at the end of his rifle and parade around with it. Why? Because it is sub-human because 'it' is not Japanese.

As I said before, Hate is colorblind. Hate is sexless.

We have a VERY LONG way to go......and as a species, I just don't know.

When I look into both of my daughters eyes, I am overwhelmed with joy and sadness....what kind of world are we building for them?

Done. Be safe and be careful.

Growing up, my Dad made sure I had Black friends, Brown friends, Yellow friends. Heck, if he could have found someone Red or Green he would have made sure that I had them as friends also. I also had friends with what we now call "Special Needs". And young ladies were also part of the equation.

The bottom line is that he taught, no, he lead by example respect and acceptance of all regardless of gender, race, or religion. I tried to do the same with my children.

Babies don't hate. It is something that they learn from the adults in their lives. And shame on us if we do that.

I choose to believe that the majority of people are accepting of one another. My town is at least 50% "Hispanic". My neighborhood is an eclectic mix of all. And we all get along and respect each other. We watch out for each other and are proud of that fact.
