Ron 'shop, was the first real Heli shop, I had the pleasure,to do business with.He was a Schluter fan, as I was. He had a very good selection of parts. He provided parts and advise. Will always remember him as a parts supplier and a real generous guy. Attended a couple of events, at his shop
and at the field. All good memories!! Rest in piece as you well deserve !

Well the world just became a little less enjoyable. Truly the world has lost someone special.

After ordering from Rick's Fancy Building for many years (usually via phone) I finally met Ron (and Nathan) at Laurel Koll's fly-inn in Ruleville Mississippi almost 2 decades ago. I immediately felt like I had known him for a very long time. I was a pilot and he had been an Air Traffic Controller. We had more than models to talk about. For many years I got a chance to catch up with Ron at the Birmingham Fly-inn. It was always a pleasure.

I think I'll go fly something today.

A Loss to us All
I had the chance to know Ron for many years. He meant more to this hobby for many years than people will ever realize. He was inventive, creating some very neat tools for heli setup. He taught many people how to auto rotate and do it well. (Then he would take your money, beating you in an auto contest! HAHAHAHA). Unfortunately the business had to close several years ago in deference has to how the hobby changed. I know the last years of the business were tough and it wore on him. He was sad to see it go but he looked forward to his retirement. I wish I had seen him more in the last few years but somehow people drift apart when things change. He will be remembered by me and many for many, many years to come. He will be part of those few who are remembered as the people who really moved the hobby forward. Ron, you will be missed by all!

It is surely a sad day of Ron passing. He was hell of a nice guy. He really helped me with my autos. Telling me how it is important to be able to do them. Along with many other things. He meant a lot to this hobby. He will be well missed.
I wonder if he is making a killing up in heaven shooting $1.00 for auto's !?!
So raise your shot glasses up to the heli gods and to Ron Lund ! Hope to see you again buddy and win back some of the bucks I lost.

Ron Lund was a treasure in our hobby. He literally taught me how to do shoot autos successfully over the phone when I would call to order parts and pick his brain for tips. He was down to earth and very humble. His honesty was brutal and loving.

Prayers for his loved ones.

Ron was a giant in the RC helicopter world. He had a heart of gold and provided service that no one could ever hope to match. It is sad to see him go.

I bought my first kit from Ron back when his site was still Ricks. He truly knew the meaning of customer service and would bend over backwards to make sure his customers were satisfied. He was always my go-to for parts. He was such a great ambassador for the hobby. I was happy for him when he retired, but sad for the hobby. I can't believe he's gone so soon.

Wow a great guy gone. I have great memories of Ron and the days when Robbe heli's were the main machine everyone wanted. I loved the days being able to go to IRCHA and load up on all kinds of parts from Ron. Ron was a great ambassador and a great human being. I remember one year some asshole stole Ron's trailer from IRCHA and he had nothing to sell to anyone, I believe at the time he had lost around $20k worth of heli stuff, but that didnt matter everyone at IRCHA that year came together and helped Ron and Nathen be able to sell and keep Rons Heli's going. This speaks to the kind of person he was and people were willing to help a great person in his time of need. I am grateful to of known Ron and call him a friend. RIP my friend you will never be forgotten.Proud member of Team Bob00
