Very sad to see him go, what a true inspiration and walking legend, I’ve been around for a short time but he sure did make a huge impact on me in the hobby as well as many, reminding me how important it was to get it right. His perfection and motivation was truly infectious, the countless videos and tutorials have helped me in ways I can say if it wasn’t for him I would have not made it or possible left the hobby. We’ve definitely lost a huge part of the hobby in his memory...WE LOVE YOU RON LUND...RIP...AMEN

RIP Ron. You were truly a great friend, mentor, leader, promoter of the hobby and helped the RC helicopter community more than I can say here. For those that never got to meet or know Ron Lund, he was one if not the first real ambassador of the sport. Teaching young kids how to fly successfully and helping at events and providing a safe place for all levels of pilot to hone their skills and flourish. Ron would get excited for someone he barely knew who had just learned to hover. And speaking of hovering, he believed in mastering the basics and he believed in learning to do your own wrenching. Ron had trophy’s and Plaques all over his office. It may have been a mess with heli parts strewn everywhere but he knew where everything was and he especially knew where every plaque he had won was. He was a true master at spot auto rotations and was a big influence on pilots to learn the skill. He loved to compete in the auto contests at every event and alway supported events with giveaways and in any way he could. He made sure the events has a store on site so pilots that crashed could get back up and running. He helped my son Dylan more than anyone knows and he supported him at an unbelievable level. One our favorite all time events was at Nathan’s house with just a few pilots led by Ron. I have video of that event I’ll try to find it and repost if I can. On top of all this Ron was just a Great Guy!!! He was one of the most generous people I’d ever met. I have tons of stories that all circulate around Ron and some shenanigans. Unfortunately the RC Heli world has undergone a metamorphosis that pushed Ron out of his store and he had to close the doors. That was truly a sad day in my book. I know it broke his heart and most everyone in the heli community hated to see that happen. Ron wasn’t just another online retailer. He was an institution. I don’t know how many IRCHAs he attended in a row but I think it was in the twenty somethings. He helped out running that event and supporting that event every year. It was a two day drive for him to get there but he never missed. He was the Auto Champion countless times there and to be honest they should put his statue up at “Center Stage” he was that much responsible for the success of RC helicopters from the very beginning. You will be missed Ron. I hope you can organize an auto contest in heaven, I’m certain you would rise up and be the champion to beat there as well!

I think most of all the thing I want to say about Ron is he was a Good Man and Human Being! Let me say that one more time, Ron Lund was a good man and a great human being. He had compassion for others, steady judgment and was steadfast in nature.

Me and Dylan still have our Rick’s RC Helicopters, I like em shirts. The Rick’s part is another topic but suffice it to say, it was indeed Ron’s Shop! I bet Ron has his on when he hits the pearly gates!

RIP Ron. What a huge loss to our hobby. I was just looking over my many old receipts from Rick's and later Ron's. He helped out so many, including myself. If I have to setup a BeastX, his videos are the first I go to. What a great guy; Thank you Ron.J. B. Jones

RIP Mr Lund.

I bought many a parts and stuff from Mr Lund back in 2005 to 2007 when I first started this infrenal Heli love hate relationship. His website was a one of my many goto sites to buy stuff because the local hobby shop (at the time) had nothing to support local hobbyists. Even the new one has nothing heli related. I still have to order online for all my stuff. The hobby has lost an "icon" in the r/c Heli hobby.

My deepest condolences to Mr Lunds family from a Canadian Heli pilot. This is truly a sad day.
