Why so quiet? OK, I'll start it.....

I guess with everything going on, people are AFRAID to post about the current state of our nation. Well, I'm not and the conversation needs to start......

1. I hope all 4 Police Officers have a very nasty, and morbid prison term when they are found guilty (normally I don't say this, but I watched the entire video...I don't see how ANYONE can come to any other conclusion then guilty).
2. I absolutely have nothing but respect for PEACEFUL protestors...
3. I absolutely have nothing but respect for those that guard their property....however they see fit...
4. The old adage, 'You loot, we shoot.' has never had greater meaning....
5. Looters and Rioters are nothing but crazed animals...treat them as such.

It is sad what is going on...very, very sad. And I don't really give a D@MN what other countries think right now. What we need to do is THINK for ourselves...many of these 'sheeple' are not...that is why we are having riots instead of peaceful protests.

This will end, as it always does. But what will be the long term damage? I don't know.... God Bless everyone, and please be safe.

So, now the Celebrities are giving money to a fund to help bail out the protesters................

WHEN will they donate money to a fund to help the businesses that were damaged or destroyed by the protesters?

ALL the officers that were involved in George Floyd's death have been arrested and charged. The protesters for George have had their cries heard........protest should be over. Those that are now protesting in George's name are not doing that.........they are inciting civil disobedience and dangerous riots and should face the consequences.Jeremy

Not to mention the efforts to defund law enforcement. That is the most ludicrous thing I have heard of in a long time. Maybe the police should ban together, go on strike then wait for the mindset to change.

Things would escalate RAPIDLY in the urban areas. Rural areas can pretty much manage themselves. (my opinion only)

De-fund law enforcement.....right, give me a freak'n break. Because that is what every leftist, every criminal WANTS to happen. Hell, why don't we just make the movie 'The Purge' a everyday event in this country, because THAT is what will happen. OMG....these freak'n retards...

And the PC crowd has just made TDS look like a joke. It will be our end fellow Americans. This PC crap needs to go....all we have to do is respect one another, that is it.

As for the Police, I have and I always will respect the BLUE. But, they have their bad apples as well, just like ALL organizations do. You know, again, all the Police Chief, and DA, the other officers had to do was THE RIGHT THING and none of this would have happened. Protest for 48 hours.....peaceful protest, but that didn't happen. ANTIFA, BLM and other extremist groups saw an opportunity and took it, and lets not forget the 'free chit' crowd as well.

I am sick of people bad mouthing our country, our freedoms, our constitution and our way life. You don't like it, THEN F$$$$$$G leave and go turn some other country into the cesspool paradise you believe in and desire.

OMG my head is about to explode with rage and fury. WHY DID I SERVE MY COUNTRY FOR 21 years just to see animals act this way???? I served so that they could do this? All those that made the ultimate sacrifice, even buried on foreign soil, what did they die for? All of those brave Law Enforcement people that paid the ultimate price for protecting those they serve? I guess we are just going to forget them all now..... Those people that worked hard their entire life, to save so they could have a business of their own, just so some rioters could burn it all down and take whatever they wanted. So, this isn't injustice? I guess it only flows one way. Really, who TRULY believes that the injustice that was brought on Mr. Floyd, gave the GREEN LIGHT for all of these Barbaric actions? Who? And truly, anyone that says 'Rioters should be arrested, and looters should be shot.' are racist? Really? In what freak'n world?

OK, I need to stop...I am about to have a meltdown. God help us all and our wonderful country! Be safe.

Unfortunately, I think you got it right in the first line of your post. I will freely admit I am afraid to voice my thoughts on this subject. There is no framework for rational thinking and critical analysis on this subject. If I were suggest anything but the "conventional" views, I risk being fired from my job, my property being vandalized and/or personal harm to myself, loved ones or both.

If there were some hope of real discussion of current events, if the people at the center of these events were even distantly listening, I might find it worth risking entering the discussion; but as it is, there is nothing to be gained and everything to lose by voicing my thoughts."Well, nothing bad can happen now."

Defund the Police Force and make guns illegal (for law abiding citizens)... Yup. That'd be anarchy. It'd be a whole-sale free-for-all. Every punk in the city would be free to loot with impunity.

Let me be clear, what appears to have happened to George Floyd shouldn't have. Nothing else I say will change that. (Read that last part several times.)

But let's not forget the "gentle giant" did 5 years of hard time for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and was being arrested for passing bad $20s. Defund the police force? Yup. Anarchy.

OK. Nice aspiration. I have the same. And we could do that if people didn't break the law. If people simply followed the rules, we could eliminate the highway patrol. I wouldn't have to set my house alarm or have door locks on my house. We could eliminate PIN numbers and banks to store our valuables.

I aspire to eliminate all branches of the military. The amount of my money that goes to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force trying to keep world peace could be used elsewhere. While we're at it, let's eliminated the deadwood of the CIA, FBI, NSA, Boarder Patrol, Customs, IRS, ATF, TSA, FCC, FAA, EPA, OSHA...

With no police, I suppose we won't need the Department of Justice (DOJ) and with no cases, we could eliminate the entire Judicial Branch of our government. No need for a Supreme Court of the United States.

If only people would be nice.

Sadly, I don't think we are there yet. Since the name George Floyd is currently too emotionally charged to use as an example of why none of the above is possible, I'll use Jawon Ramsey instead. He is making a name for himself this morning in my little town. He is accused of having shot a female eight times and a male two times during a robbery. We can't de-fund our jail just yet as he isn't eligible for bond since he is in violation of parole. I might add that it took me less the 60 seconds to find Jawon's name to use instead of George Floyd's. There is a similar example almost daily.

Everyday I continue to watch the dismantling of our great country. Hardly anyone is saying anything. I suppose this could be compared to McCarthyism during the cold war. It is really, really sad.

Well, I am not being silent. I am talking with my friends, family and close co-workers if they want to have a calm discussion. So far, its amazing what most have to say...they are just afraid to say it.

I think the silent majority has had just about enough.....

I feel the same, and there is nothing I can do about it.

you know we have bears in our city and the city is doing nothing about it. one is traveling threw my yard. you see I called the police, and I called the state police, and the ranger. the state police told me to "to enjoy watching the bear with my granddaughter but don't go near it". I tell you, if some kid get's killed or chewed up I will be there telling the mother I will stand up for her when she sues the city.
