Concept 30
I have recently acquired a concept 30 with a very nice 30yr layer of dust. I also got a new in box md500 fuselage. The heli is in good condition but all bearings will need replaced. My biggest concern being the swash.

Does anyone have pointers? I would like to keep period equipment minus the 72mhz thing

I have every intention of flying this in honor of the prior owner.

Kloss08 My biggest concern being the swash.
I agree time and the original swash would give me pause. Maybe someone has a zeal upgrade swash.

I found the manual. I must have one of the last copies in existence. I also have the manual for the md500 fuse.

Going threw the manual it states that starter come a must be used for the body. I'm guessing I will never fined one but, does anyone have starter cone a collecting dust?

Up date. It runs. I pulled the engine and heated it to free as it was seized. It quickly broke free and I disassembled the engine only to find it had been pickled in after run oil. The bearings were in great shape.

I cleaned everything. I checked the glow plug and to my surprise it too was good. I cleaned the tank out replaced the stop and lines. I filled the tank and it fired rite up.

I plan to fly this with as much original equipment as possible. The gyro is the old mechanical type.

This will be neat.

Boy that brings back memories. My son and I each had a concept 30. His had the 500 fuse and mine had the bell 222. My son was ten and learned to fly on that heli. Even with the all
Plastic swash it flew great but as has been Mentioned if you can find the metal upgrade swash it is a good idea.
Have fun with it!

I didn't notice some details on main rotor.

This concept 30 has a main rotor with two "T" spindle.
You need to check the flap dampers inside very carefully.

I was restoring one of this beauty and is very difficult to get spare parts.

Other thing you must consider is the way to startup the engine...

The internal cone is way inside the fuselage, so you need a extension to startup the engine

I made a special extension to be installed on my starter motor.

Details of the cone...

Details of the extension installed on my motor starter.

This extension was my option to solve the problem. You may consider another option.
