Roban Mechanics and Motor Mount ...
I posted this on other discussion sections but decided to post with pics on my issues with the Roban Mechanics and Scorpion 560KV motor.

Scorpion bolt pattern, not symmetrical.

I elongated 2 of the 4 holes on the upper sliding plate to match the Scorpion motor bolt pattern.

Here I grinded off a portion of the bearing support plate to match the Scorpion motor bolt pattern.

In this pic the motor pinion is installed on to the motor shaft.

Note the clearance of the 2 bolts. The motor pinion would need to be lifted to tighten the 2 motor bolts

The bearing support plate fastenned to the L studs.

The middle bearing support plate are not fastenned at this time.

With the above images for visual representation of my issue, how would you do a belt tension, alignment and tighten the Scorpion motor?

As it stands, the 2 bolts that are hidden under the motor pinion cause an issue primarily due to asscessability.

Perhaps only 2 bolts are typically used and the bearing support plate not used.

Or, the bearing suppport plate is used but only with 2 screws.

Two Bolts
2 bolts were only needed to hold the motor.. I like to use the wider spaced holes..
Think you did a lot of extra work before you asked your question..

Did you use the bearing support?

I agree with Doorman. I have 3, including one with the same motor. I have not used the bearing support on any and have been flying them without issues for several years. Mike

Same here, I currently have 2 Roban helis with no bearing support and no issues using the Scorpion motor.

Yes I definitely did a lot of work only to find out that it was challenging to make it work out (belt tension, tighten motor, remove belt, remove motor pinion, tighten remaing 2 narrow screws, etc.) in the end.
