Those parts look really nice. It would certainly make me think twice about spending $30,000 on another objet, but there are a bunch of them for sale on Ebay at $2000-$4000, and one hopeful who has his listed for several months at $20,000

If the supports break off easily I suspect the finished item may not have the strength to be a mechanical part. Would you trust your IGB to one of those printed parts.

On the other hand, I'll bet the material does not cost $350/kg 2kg minimum.

When I bought my first printer no printers for home use were available, so I had a choice of 2 commercial ones. I bought the cheaper $15,000 one and it worked the same as the resin printers do now with lots of stalks supporting the product. I soon traded it in for the Objet and started getting the quality I wanted.

Now it looks like you can get 90% of the quality for 1/100 of the price.

These are examples of the Skid Tube joins using the old Steel and the new 3D print/Welded joints..

So far I have only printed detail bits. I know the thinner the part it get pretty brittle. Definitely more strength in materials like ABS and PLA and a slight give or flexibility likely preferable for the high vibration with the heli's
