New Funkey 700 Sport Scale Bell 206 Jet Ranger
Hey all. I've been working on this Funkey fuse using stretched 600 mech's. I got the frame work from Fpainter on RR about two years ago. Their G10 frames with all CNC aluminum hardware. The frames have been doubled up in stress point areas like main bearing and motor mounting points along with other areas of the frames. Direct to swash setup. Even the servo horns are G10 with a 4 bolt pattern to a normal round servo horn, the anti-rotation guide is G10. I've already flown the mech's and it fly's very well. AS I said it's a sport scale, so not much detail except for what is already there from the manufacturer.
My goal is just to have a good flying bird with easy access for maintenance and parts changing when needed. The paint scheme is going to be white and red with "American Red Cross" theme, that's the plan but you know how that goes, things may change. Here's some pics please pardon my cluttered work space.

I had to do a tail gear box mod. I couldn't get the older style align 550/600 tail rotor an pitch slider so I had to go with the new V2 version and modify it to a older style "V1" I guess... gear box. The newer gear boxes clamp to the boom with the 2 vertical fin bolts which makes it really hard to tighten bolts that are inside the fuse. So I took the old gear box and the V2 tail rotor and pitch slider and basically turned it back in time. Using a 500 swash ball and a couple of washers, got it locktited without binding the slider and used the older pitch control arm and hocus pocus it works just like the V1 except with a much better rotor and slider.

Looking good Dennis. I use the same tail box on my MD 500E to tighten down the vertical/horizontal stabilizer without crushing it and still get it very tight on the boom.

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

Thanks guys. I know I said I wasn't going to do any detail work, oh well, just a little. I got the front doghouse vents cut out along withe the rear doghouse vents
I'm using Lungsford Racing turnbuckle for the main grip links. I have had them on my 600 JR forever, they make for perfect blade tracking and yes that is a flybar tool on the head. I use it to hang the bird withthin aviation wire to set the CG.
I looked at two battery placements, one saddled and the other stacked. With the saddled I coud put my Shockwave sound board at the top of the battery mount on the frame. But I think I'll go with stacked. I was goinf to put the 2" speakers in the rear windows were as they are in the front windows on the 600 but, that means I have to deal with a wired connection attached to the canopy like the 600. So I'm thinking of mounting the ESC to the mechs mounting platform and then attaching the speakers direct to the frame below the main gears. I've also cannibalized a couple of small LED flash lights for the contacts and may be able to make the connection when the canopy is put on with the speakers in the rear windows. I'll have to test it first, I don't want to create distortion.

While I ponder this I'll start prepping the fuse for paint. I thank my lovely lady for cutting out my windows
