It appears RC helis are a thing of the past around here. Not much life in this site any longer.

RR has a very strong khowledge data base.

It appear to be prohibitive to comments on "old good" posts.

IMO...it appear that When "older members" know all the jokes, so they name it by numbers...

Joke Number 3453
Everybody laugh...Hahahaha...

Joke number 10942849
Everybody laugh...Hahahaha...

Joke number 4574776
Everybody laugh...Hahahaha...

A new member tell Joke similar to joke number 3453...
Everybody is pointing at you!
Wrong! Repeated.

You can't do that.
This data base is dinamic!

No doubt things have receded from their high-water mark. Of course the same could be said for all modeling sites. Traffic at Will James' site has also retracted considerably, although seaming less than here.

I think there are several reasons for that...
-- When Finnless left he took a lot of new people with him. His videos help a lot of people just getting started with repeat questions. The other site is just about as slow as this site - if you remove the Oxy, Blade, 450 questions.
-- As you likely know, this site closed for new posts for about 6 months. During that time people got out of the habit of checking in here and spent more time on the other site.
-- While I don't completely agree with Rojoalfa's assessment, I can't deny that there is a very experienced group of modelers here. Many of them have been building and flying model helicopters for many many years. This database is almost 20 years in the making. For that reason there is less background noise of "solved" questions. You won't find the usual stream of "My tail is kicking" posts. Folks have either acquired the knowledge to work through these question themselves, or have used the search feature and found the topic has already been discussed.

Anyway... RC helis are a thing of the past around here - an eighteen year past. They are also a thing of the present and future.

It is also clear that RR's original right leaning group has not left the site while most of the centrist / left leaning group has basically left for good.
I still watch certain forums on the site, but when I started to see obviously raciest (EG: "The China coronavirus" ) and odd-ball conspiracy threads showing up, I put RR on the back-burner.

That is a shame, because it has such a great legacy and a treasure trove of irreplaceable information.
Literally, 9 times out of 10, if you use the "site:" option in Google or DuckDuckGo, you can find a thread that deals with your questions.
EG; "tail wag goblin 500 site:runryder.com" will show 66 results instead of 66,000,000.
Or "LED shop lights site:runryder.com" shows 10 results.

Why Finless left RunRyder is complex and probably depends a lot on who you ask. Suffice it to say he left here years ago and found a host for his material on HF.

Much of what Bob did is still on the other site. Bob himself doesn't seem to be active over there any more. His last posts were in early 2019 and those were in reference to telescopes..

So you're original question still stands - where did finless go? Or more to the point, where is he today?
