Hi.. I think that your right. However, I'll just fit the short ones, because if I remove the plastic ones, then the elevator will rub against the carbon side frames instead of the plastic ones, or am I missing something here..

I know what I'll do. I'll cut out the pitch guides using my bench grinder and finish off with a Dremel tool. Then I'll just epoxy them to the side frames (Super glue is too runnie, so makes a mess). But just in case I mess it up. I've ordered a new pitch guide set (Didn't cost much at all)... But I'll think it'll work fine cutting them out... Pictures coming..

Hey UK. Good to see you're flying one of the old Raptors. I had a Raptor 60 and a couple 50s back in the day. Flew great. Better reliability with certain upgrades. Clutch is definitely one of them. Had them for about 4 years before I switched to Align. Good luck with them!

Thanks. This is my First (Old) newly building Raptor 90 se (Many new parts).. Now as for the motor (A C-Spec I was told).. I've fitted the Alloy fan, and the heavy duty clutch. Also, I've fitted the Governor sensor too (Will be swinging slightly shorter blades than normal 690mm), so I don't what to over speed the rotor head. Man this is going to be one hella of a heli when I've finished with it.. Then on to my Raptor 60, and then my really old bent frame x-cell 60 (Have a bunch of Alloy upgrades coming for it), and the x-cell has a carbon tail boom with a torque tube too (No crappy drive wire)...

Oh, one secret. The rotor head that is coming in the mail for my 90 se, is a used Alloy Rotor Head Assembly C/W Underslung Flybar Assembly.. YES a Underslung Flybar.. (The Flybar and paddles were not included). But I already have them here..

Move over the Align's.. Here comes the good old Raptors again, and updated to the modern era of nitro heli's too...

A guy I use to fly with here in Houston had a Raptor 90 and flew the crap out of that thing. There was a fellow from the Netherlands that flew Raptor 90's in the 3D masters in UK back around 2003-2004 in sportsman class. I recall he did well with them. Of course Electrics and higher power birds took over and the older Raptors became unwanted over time. Namely on account of cost.

Good to see you bringing them back and good luck flying. Post some videos when you can.

Guy's.. My alloy head with the underlung flybar has arrived.. I'll clean, and re-grease the thrust bearings.. Then once fitted to my Raptor 90 se. It'll bring the heli into the modern era Yeah!!..

Edit: Damper and damper washers had to be replaced. Plus the spindle too.. All were worn, so I took the none worn ones from another head..

Alloy rotor head is now on my Raptor. But I had to replace the bearings, Spindle shaft, and the rubber dampers, plus the damper washers too (All worn out), so I took all the parts from another Alloy head that I have. However, the Dampers are large rubber O-rings.. With a washer behind one O-Ring and another thicker one on the outside. Anyone know where I can get new ones from, so I can get the other head built.. The ones listed in the build manual show solid ones..

Ok. But the 2 special washers are worn out too (too much play in the them when you slide the spindle shaft in them).. You see the washers hole is a bit larger than normal now, and this head plus the other 2 heads use rubber O-Rings, not the Thunder Tiger solid dampers.. What make of these rotor heads are I do wonder..

The metal upgrade heads used to be made by Budd at Quick UK, they did all the metal upgrades for the Raptors. But more suppliers came on board.

I used the QuickUK head to swing 950mm Blades on a turbine pod and boom. Very capable.

But there is plenty of Ebay sellers who sell spares for all the raptors, I have a 50SE and i always get spares from Ebay..
