600 size Jet Ranger
This showed up today 600 FunKey.

I didn't realize that it does not include landing gear. What? Anyone have a set that they would like to part with?

Ron
I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

yep. I think they expect you to use your mechanics LG.
Are you looking for scale LG or just any LG that will work?
What mechanics you using?

Hey Roy, I am looking for something scale. I was hoping to use the stock ones as a template and make up a pair from stainless. I have a set from an old Kalt Baron that look close. I can use those for a template I guess. I will have to set it on them and give it a good stare down.

OK. Let me know what you decide as I have spare LG laying around.
I did have a set of Hirobo scale LG that would fit but can't remember if I gave those to a buddy or not. I will check and if I still have them I will send you a pic.

Definitely closer to a LongRanger shape than a Jetranger (I have built a few of both!).... Depends how close to Scale you are looking to get.

Yes, it is a long Ranger . I do like the shorter stance. The tail is on the wrong side so that is bugging me. I may just stuff these mechanics in and fly it like that until winter and then take care of the details.

The tail may be on the wrong side but I would advise it to be on the correct side for the Rotor direction and the huge vertical fins the Rangers have... Don't sacrifice Tail Authority and a relaxing flying machine for True scale...

For Easy flying characteristics you need the tail on the R/H side for R/H rotation.. If you get into a low Head Speed and Wide chord blades you will need the tail Authority from the Tail rotor on the correct side..

Remember the Full Size Rangers have L/H Main rotation which is why their tail Rotor is on the L/H side. DG

I am using 600 pro mechanics and cw rotation on my MD 500's and the tail on the left side. The tail blades spin down with the rotor wash but it doesn't effect the performance. I suspect that I will do the same to this as I am using the same mechanics. The only thing is a lot of glass work to cut off the end of the boom and rotate it 180. We will see.

Hey Ron,
Checked my shop and I don’t have the Hirobo LG. I remember now I think I gave them to the other Ron from FL that you met at Dalton. The gear you tried on look too wide to me. Any way you can modify that gear?
Now I do have a low set of 600 LG that came off my 600 size 412. They may be too wide also but let me take a pic and measurements tomorrow and you can check.

Thanks guys, I still cant believe that it is sold with no skids but, oh well. I think that the gear it is sitting on will be used as a template of sorts to make a new set. I spent 30 something years in the hydraulic industry, I guess it is time to break out the tubing bender (if I can find it lol) and bend some tubing.

Here's what's available for those of us without tubing benders:
https://jettechmodels.com/funkey-landing-skid/

I have the red and pink version of that heli still in the box, purchased locally. Luckily, the original owner purchased the landing gear. I believe the package says Century on it. So, that may be another avenue for your landing gear search.
