No Bind
ARRR I just received my TT Raptor 60 complete with all the servos, Futaba 611 Gyro and a nice AR7010 receiver too.. All is installed as I received it. But my Orange (DSMX compatible) 8 channel TX WON'T go into bind mode. I press the trainer switch to bind, and switch on.. But just a bloody blank screen, is it ****ed (Sorry for swearing).. The TX is new... But I never used it till now.. Anyone know of that problem.

Now all I have is my old (In good condition) JR X-388S TX. I was able to put it in Heli mode by looking on-line how to do it (It wasn't easy to do), and I do have the 2.4GHz module for it.. However with a small LCD screen it's hard to program (No graphics)..

Well The 2.8GHz module did come with the 7 channel receiver. But as I said with such a small LCD screen and looking in the TX manual it looks complicated to program than a DX8.. or my no good Orange TX

Spektrum...
Would you tell us what is this orange TX compatible?

It is probable that some adjustment is required on menus...

It says on the TX DSMX

Oh. The bind is now working.. You see I opened up the case, and saw another empty connector on the board (Next to the one that the switch wires that are plugged into), so I plugged the trainer switch in that connector and VOLLA now the bind is now working (Darn Chinese). They plugged it in the bloody wrong socket.. Now I'm good to go (when I get the TX screen shots settings from my buddy who sent me the heli)(Has a OS 70 in it)), and a complete crash kit too (a YS 60 too) Also, I jumped the gun and couldn't help myself by purchasing Carbon Fiber upgrades for this heli (Yep they are still available)..But I did think that it would end up as a hanger Queen since I had no decent TX..

Oh, unlike the DX8.. This TX has a Backlight and was already wired up (From the factory) to use a small lipo (which I have fitted) instead of AA Batterys, and just in case your thinking that this TX might look like a DX8 from the outside (Nothing wrong with that)... But in side it's completely different..

Well, I don't understand what you did but you solved the problem and that is important.

Spektrum world... Always full of surprises.

Well the switch wires were plugged in the wrong socket on the board (There was another empty socket on the board), and that's the one the switch should have been plugged into.....

Ahh.. Ok... This TX doesn't have a push button to the binding thing. You need to flip the trainer sw... The trainer sw, for some reason, was connected to other function and not related to binding process.

Quite disturbing... So, if you don't open this gadget, you will never know...

Instruction manual, as always spektrum things, say anything...

BTW, Instruction manual don't say anything about this trainer sw...

Rojo, your replies to this post are not helping anyone not sure what you are trying to accomplish. My concern would be the fact that the original poster bought an Orange transmitter to begin with. Yikes. This isn't the hobby to buy cheap unreliable equipment.

Yep If I didn't open the TX.. I would have never known what the problem is. But I do wonder what that other empty connector is for (Though I've seen good reviews of this TX on YouTube).. However, there are some that can't get the the Orange TX to Bind. Now I know why eh??.. Now all is good. Ready to bind my Orange TX to that spektrum receiver..

But the biggest thing now is waiting for all those Carbon Fiber parts to arrive. I'll do one side first... Then the other side... That way I'll be able to leave the servos in place and still connected to the RX.... But I also have a Carbon Fiber elevator arm coming and I'll put that to together first (The Plastic one will go).. However the servo will have be be removed on that job..

Also, I do have a aluminum elevator lever to go in place too.. Once the top side frame is removed...

After all is done. I'll have a really nice Hanger Queen...

Very good!

I like that Thunder tiger helicopters... My kind of heli!

Yes... I understand my comments about spektrum gadget are not pleasant... Sorry... On the other hand, for some reason, orange compatible stuff are cheaper and have a better behavior. I mean, this orange things has a 50% probability to fail at the first time so, If it is working good after all, your system is going to be OK.
The binding process on this orange TX is more stable than the original dx8. You only need to bind again when programming fail safe.

Check every button, switch, scroll button, trims... Range test.

I would like to see some Pic of your FC upgrade...

You see after buying all those upgrades for the Raptor. I'm now on a budget, and bought myself a cheap TX...

Let me get this straight ..... so you bought a nice heli with a bunch of upgrades and then turn around and risk buying a cheap azz TX to fly it ??? Or, are you going to fly it at all ???
Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I Got confused... You mess JR with corona?

IMO, no Corona nor spektrum.
They have the same "characteristic"... The binding procedure.

Base on your options, I prefer orange TX and orange Rx... Nothing to do with spektrum receiver, Blinking leds or corona module that lost binding in every Flight...

Well isn't the JR X-3810 a good Transmitter (It did Cost me $110). If not then My heli will be a nice Hanger Queen (I can sit and stare at it)...

as for the transmitter, I'll solder in a new backup battery and recap the main board too (5 caps will need replacing, as they dry up from old age)..

Errr.. How do you fly a large heli. I do have the training gear for it...

Well I want the JR X-3810 to be 2.4GHz. You see even though my orange TX says binding. The orange Rx LED just keeps flashing, and I don't know what's going on.. It's a R820X V2 with DSM2/DSMSX. Full compatible.. In the TX settings there's DSSS-2, and DSSS-X. I've tried both. But still the RX Led doesn't go a solid red (Connected) On the back there is a FCCE Lable..

Oh. The Spektrum RX in the heli. The LED does go from blinking to solid Red.. But no servo movement at all, is it something to do with the protocol... I even watched a guy on YouTube bind this Orange RX to his Transmitter and it worked. But not for me..

Update: I've tried another Orange RX and still the same problem. You see the TX say's bind "Please wait" but still no solid LED on the receiver, so it must be a problem with the TX, in the trash it will go and I'll use the JR X-3810 now..

OH, my friend, you need to read a "whole encyclopedia" about spektrum binding...

Thanks God!... Google is here!

Check this link...

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/sho...M2-DSMX-comp-TX

Binding...

"I have just worked this TX out before binding select model number name model then turn TX off put bind plug in RX and turn on hold trainer switch and turn TX on after bind remove bind plug and power down RX and TX turn TX on then RX and it will work.
If you bind another receiver with a different name after you select the model you have to power down the TX and power it back up before you power the second model .
You have to do this every time you select a different model.
I also had to change the Trans Chan number from 8 to 4 why I do not know. "

Ok I'll try that..
Thanks..

Oh what does he mean by "I also had to change the Trans Chan number from 8 to 4 why I do not know" Because I don't want to sound stupid.. Also, I'm in channel 1 (Raptor60). But still no go.. But remember when I plugged in the trainer switch to the other connector.. Well it must be the right one because there's 4 wires to it. 2 wires to the trainer switch and the other 2 go to the throttle cut switch, so with I put that switch to cut. It says "Cut" on the screen..
