Ok I kinda get that.. how do you hold onto the pinion gear with it in the heli to keep it from turning and how the HECK do you hold the bell to put any torque on it to "unscrew" it?? |

/I use a old leather glow to protect pinion and grabbed with a plier, then turn bell counterclockwise...You also may used some heat to remove or break glue on internal thread.../Saludos cordiales, |

Hold the pinion with pliers or a vice. Use a strap wrench to unscrew the clutchbell. As rojoalfa suggested, some heat may be necessary if the pinon was previously mounted with red Loctite.https://www.harborfreight.com/rubbe...cid=paid_google|||69373&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&utm_content=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItu_rjbH55wIVEMZkCh2AiQC-EAQYAyABEgIILfD_BwE"Well, nothing bad can happen now." |

So you DO have to take it out of the heli.. I was under the impression you could do it in the heli.. thats why I asked about it.. OK thank you |

Metalwizard So you DO have to take it out of the heli.. I was under the impression you could do it in the heli.. The threads on the pinion and clutch bell are very fine threads and they spin such that flying the model tends to tighten the threads. So if the model hasn't been flown, and if it was loosely assembled to begin with, I suppose it is possible the clutch bell could be unscrewed and dropped down without removing the pinion. But in practice, this is never the case. And honestly, by the time you've removed the engine and start shaft assembly, how much extra work is it to pull the bearing block and clutch bell/pinion assembly?Do you have the manual? If not, I may help to study the manual here -> https://www.manualslib.com/manual/4...?page=10#manual"Well, nothing bad can happen now." |
