Yes. You need to select proper electric motor.

120 Amp x 12 c x 3.7 V/c= 5328 watts...

You need a motor with more than 5328 watts...

Sorry, fellas, I should have provided more detail

Existing motor on 700E: Align 800MX
Batts: 2x Pulse 6S 5000mah 40C
Flying style: 3D, ~1950-2050 rpm in ST1 (mostly)

So would Castle recommend their 120A Edge esc?

You might want to use one of these:

http://www.castlecreations.com/en/p...esc-010-0103-00

https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/col...200a-hv-4-1-esc

I have been running all Hobbywing ESCs for a while now. Really like them. The Castle will need a separate bec.

Thx...so is a 120-amp esc not enough? A 700E will draw more amps?

With the 800mx motor with a conservative pitch curve and moderate 3d a 120 amp esc should work.

Your style is 3D...mmm... 120 amp ESC should be enough for your motor.

A 160 Amp ESC... A 1.75 $ per Amp... It is more than you probably need.

What about some calculation?
Castle creation ESC has a powerful data logger.

I would stay away from Castle. Go Hobbywing 120amp for mild 3D. Go 200amp for extreme.

used a CC Talon 120hv in my 700E for 3 years. Was worried about the BEC. Standing next to Nick Maxwell back during his time with Thunder Tiger/Tower Hobbies and the Raptor 90/G4 days. Asked him if the Talon 120 BEC was OK as he was doing some R90 3d, and he replied, that's what I'm using right now in this heli. Good enough for me.RapRexSynLogo Pilot
