Back in the gameThis is my 2nd comeback the helis. My 1st hiatus was due to raising kids & financial redirection. I got back to flying for only a short while before having a motorcycle accident sideline me again since 2016. I had to re-learn how to use my right (dominant) hand which caused a lot of angst when even thinking of trying to fly again. Dexterity is a definite concern but my confidence & passion to fly finally pushed me beyond my fear. We also moved from TX to Hawaii in Oct 2017 with only suitcases & truck shipment. All my ex's (former helis & equipment) still live in TX! #GeorgeStraitLast March, I purchased a used Oxy 3 & began getting all the bits needed to get back into the hobby. It's all been sitting on the shelf calling me. lol I finally bit the bullet & pulled everything out last night. It was partially disassembled so I re-installed the tail with belt, the main gear & head assembly, the tail servo & a Futaba receiver. It cam with an Ikon 2 so I'm educating myself about it & my Futaba radio simultaneously.I'm super stoked about getting back into the air again but I'm going to take my time with the setup. I feel as though I need to brush up on everything prior to any reckless attempts to beat the Hawaiian air into submission. It's been a long, long time coming but I know some flight gonna come. #SamCookeIt's better to have flown and crashed than to never to have flown at all.
