tail gyro not compensating
How can I change gyro direction for tail compensation? I never had any setup issues with any of my 3 SK540's that I installed on my birds, This one Ikon has taken me longer than setting up all 3 SK540s

As I recall you need to connect the gyro to your PC and run the setup program.

The skookum is a breeze, they work fine! My problem is with the Ikon 2
Did the wizards and the tail still doesn’t work! Gyro corrections work for the swash but not the tail.

Well I figured it out! I set the rudder Channel on the radio in reverse, then I went into ikon software and reversed the rudder there and now the tail gyro compensation works in right direction. (SMH) they should just have a reverse gyro compensation in the software, was about to rip it out and put skookum back in. thanks for help.

I really don't mean to be rude, but you didn't see the big f...ing button to reverse the tail servo?
What version of the Windows Brain Configuration app are you using?
The latest is 3.3.003 and it will work with the iKON and the iKON2.
It will also update the old iKON to the last version of code that is compatible with the old iKON. If it is an iKON2, the latest is 3.3.003 (same as the Brain Configuration app).

Your choice. The iKON / Brain controllers are identical.

If you follow the step by step Basic Wizard, you should have a flyable setup in about 1 hour.
And, if you check page 5, it shows the iKON's directions based on the input from the transmitter. The ONLY time to reverse a channel's direction in the transmitter is when it is moving in the opposite direction on page 5 of the Configuration app.
My gut suggests that reversing in the TX and in the iKON may have set you up for some unexpected issue when you fly it.

Well, that was the easy way... Reversing rudder action but...
Reversing the gyro action is another story... You need to go to setup program in order to reverse gyro action... There is no way to do that on transmitter.

I followed the wizards and did everything it said and yes I did hit the BIG BUTTON that said to reverse and all it did was reverse tail operation not gyro compensation. it’s all good now it has to be reversed on radio and then reversed in software in order for the gyro compensation to work properly for tail.

Glad you were able work through this. It can be confusing.

Keep in mind, setting the gyro operation in both the transmitter and gyro itself is very common. You must ensure moving the stick nose-left inputs a nose-left command. Having set this, you need to pick the model up and rotate it nose-right and see if they gyro gives a nose-left correction. These are two independent and very important steps.
