Roban Metal gears
I certainly hope that I can get some help finding these. What I am desperately looking for are the metal gears for a 700 size Bell 429,that are in the main mechanics that are used to drive the tail rotor shaft. Not the ones that are in the tail rotor gear case. If anyone has a set of these, or knows where I can get them, I would appreciate the help.

My advice would be to look at scalefying.de,they sell the 429. Or call Ed from Motion Rc and ask him if there Roban shipment came in? See if you can adapt Roban gears from another model. Or have the gears made. I had a new pinion made for my gasser for about $450. Contacting Roban is hit or miss. Did your gears wear out?

Was it wear that killed them? I have a Ec 135 that showed the early signs of wear on the tail gears. I cut up a soda can and fitted strips of aluminum around the tail case and used plumbers goop glue “removable” to seal the gear case. Drilled a hole through the aluminum can and filled the gear box with grease via a syringe. Now it’s a sealed gear box, and works great. They rub some grease on them from the factory, but it slings right off after a flight. My Vario ec135 had a Closed gear box with grease filled. If it was wear that took em out, enclose the gearbox and fill it with tacky #2 grease.

Yes it was wear that took the gears out. But it was the gears inside the main mechanics that went bad. Actually only one of them. I feel they weren’t meshing property from the start.

To be sure, can you post a pic of the gear?
If it's the one I think it is, I have an extra one I can send you.

Well I am happy to report that by some stroke of luck scaleflyingde in Germany has the gears I needed. So I now patiently await for them to arrive.
