Orange RX's and sats
Does anyone use the Orange brand RX's for their Spektrum and JR DSM2 gear? Good, bad, worth the money or not? What are the guys that still use DSM2 using these days. I've been away from flying for a couple or years because of my health but starting to feel a little better and thinking about doing a little flying. I have all Spektrum and JR DSM2 equipment and don't have the money to switch everything over again. I'd like to be able to go to something else but I've got too many helis set up on DSM2 to just bail on it.

I am a futaba enthusiast but... I keep in my suitcase a spektrum module for my 12Z...DSM2.
My primary target was to fly READY TO BIND cheaper tiny electric helicopters.

Binding spektrum receiver DSM2 is not always the easy part...
I am always fighting with Blinking led on sats...

But, For some reason I don't understand, that little orange cheap things works better than the original spektrum receiver.
The bind procedure is much easier in my opinion.

My main concern is quality control. You have 50% probability to obtain a faulty receiver...
With luck, That orange thing will work with no harm.

By the way, this orange receiver is not for larger helis... No way!

Well... I wouldn't mess with different sats on my spektrum DSM2 receiver.

Most of the time, I fly my spektrum gadget with Blinking led... One of my friend recommend to put a black tape on top of sats to get rid of this nasty Blinking led...

With this orange receivers probably you can put DSMX mixed with DSM2 and no problem ...

Spektrum things is a box of surprises...

dschertz, can you recommend a specific RX for me? When I look at the new stuff it's just a bewildering array of things I don't recognize. I used AR7000s in almost everything I have unless it's a Vario or Graupner that takes a 4 servo ccpm. Most of what I fly is vintage helis and sport flying only so no 3D. I see that some of them have BECs built in. What works good for you? I'm trying to eliminate as many blind alleys as I can. Thanks for the input. The red sats are interesting also. What has been anyone's overall experience with those?
