A number of vendors have started FB pages and had good success with that. It reaches a huge audience and can be a focused avenue for your parts. I think it's one of the reasons that many that used to advertise on various forums no longer do that and have made the transition to social media. It's something to think about especially if you already have a product similar to a 450 feathering shaft.

Yes, totally agree with that.

However, major online social media does not have the greatest return for the dollar as these small forums / user groups do. I look at our server side analytics and actual sales comes from small forums like this. FB paid advertising is a joke, when you get some real organic comments going that is like wildfire. That is free, influencers are dime a dozen and don't return anything anymore, its what the people say that counts.

I need to clarify something, when the digital ads are hard coded static ads they return and have the best ROI. Ads in rotation on an ad server are a total waste of money for the advertiser, its a honey pot for those selling ads like FB and G.

What machines do you have? Any serious machine shop would be involved in aerospace and be AS9100 certified. Do you hold a current ISO9001 cert?
Can you share some pics of your facility? IG page?

If not would you not be a small hobbyist trying to drum up business for a market that is practically non-existent and has no potential for growth.

Hmmm.... I surprised and somewhat disappointed in the responses here. Squirrel is here asking if we'd like him to make us parts. The answer should be a resounding YES! I'd like parts for all my models!

I think we got off on the wrong foot with the suggestion of specifically making X-Cell parts. My impression is that there is a small but dedicated group of Germans that are doing superior work to to keep the beloved MA brand alive. Without their help this line of wonderful helicopters would have died years ago. As it is today, they make great helicopters and keep older (but still great) helicopters flying. Infringing on their small corner of the model world touched a sore spot for some.

In 1908 President Taff said "What This Country Needs is a Really
Good Five-Cent Cigar". As it applies to this hobby I'd say "What this country needs is a really good $100 .30". About now I'd be content for a resurrection of the Raptor .30 and a steady supply of parts.

Problem is most flyers want the latest and greatest and therefor moved on from the Raptor and most now realize it was already good. Now it's too late. I'm sure somebody has all their stuff. Maybe the original owner is still alive. I actually forgot his name. I can see it, but it eludes me.

Much of it goes back to this, "cast not pearls before swine".

Suppliers THINK they know what the buyers want. Fact of the matter is NONE have done a reality check. Nor have they screened the squawkers for spending power...

I suppose the original tooling, dies and engineering specs are in a warehouse somewhere in Taiwan. You can still buy many parts for a R50V2 and 30s including frames and molded gears. Keeping a Raptor flying is easier than finding a new kit.

Little known fact is that you can still buy the finest of all .30 class engines ever made - the OS .37. But it isn't easy. They are only available direct from Japan. At about $170 USD they aren't prohibitively expensive. Even the wonderfully simply to tune .32 is still available. Oddly enough it is a few dollars more than the .37.

So people like me can still fly our R30s and 50s but that doesn't help new people trying to get started.

That is what so odd with the Raptor deal. I am sure they got one heck of a return on the molds. So at this point in time it is just machine time and PENNIES for the the plastic.

Cost to get those molds cleaned up from wear would not be too bad. So, why did they ever drop it. It looks like Thunder Tiger used the same canopy on the electric version, so that was not an issue.

Cannot beat a flybar head with belt drive tail rotor and lets not forget the 4 point swashplate.
