Yes Mr. Cheesehead ( I think he has one too) is coming along real good( damn it hehe)!!!
I'm redoing my fins on both of my Jet Rangers. Between looking at the photos and the models. Also sitting back looking at them. Just not quite looking right. Back to the drawing board.
Sooner or later I may get them both done.
Keep it up Mike and the rest of you. It keeps me working harder on these .

Thanks guys...

I have the servo tray painted and the all that "jaz" ready to install. I am going to re-locate the throttle servo (3070HV) tho..

The Futaba H700s (SERVO BEAST!!) are a tick larger then servos of old.. so.. I have to sneak out a bit of the plate for that one. One nice thing about the new servos is they have longer servo leads. If i play my cards right I will not need any extensions to make it all work.. Its looking like the 760 will be trayed behind the anti rotation loop.. I can simply remove the aft cover to allow access.

Anyhow.. back to making babys.. (no.. you dont want to know)

Well.. the good the bad and the UgLy..

I wanted to move my throttle servo off the fuse.. so I designed this mount..

then I wanted to machine this mount..

Then i put THE FIRST HOLE in my machine bed after 16 years of owning the machine..

Then I mounted the part on the heli.

And once again.. the world is aligned.. with a FRICKING HOLE IN MY MACHINE BED....LOL..

O well.. LOL.. do ya think some JB Weld and no body will see it.. WAIT.. i cannot be around JB Weld.. CRIPES.. I can not WIN!

Hey Mike,
You and the Missus just get in the Yellow mobile and bring it along down here and I will mix some up for you. Bring your pod and boom machine with you and we will shoot dollar ($$) autos. While the JB Weld is drying. Later have some Captain and beers.
Remember I-64 exit 18 go south hehe

Tail drive tube...

Should I be able to slide that tube out the back of the machine? Before I attempt to extract it i would like to know what to expect.. Right now.. its not able to be slid fore and aft.

Not normally without work.
The grub screws which hold on the claw coupler up front have marked the tube, so it would not clear the center bearing which should have been installed in the middle of the tail boom. Without using a file to get rid of the grub screw marks, the shaft would not clear this bearing. At best, it still may not clear from the insert placed at the front of the tube, expanding it slightly.

Thank you.

I am hoping to slip the tube back a few inches to install the cruciform and clip on the tail gearbox output.. and then side it back in.. the TT is stuck in the center bearing.

I might have to cut a access hole in the tailboom near the gearbox housing and I would like to make that a last resort.

Kind Regards

Making headway on the Radio install.. I have to thank Dr. Ben for his help in this.. He has been more then helpful getting me past the stuff i did not understand.

More to come and some pics soon. The Futaba 760 is quite the unit.. WOW.. It has a "large scale" programming option as well. All my servos (except throttle) will be operated at 760us

I like to give a shout out to my good friend Mr. Mike Z. For fixing the nut problem on two of my rotorhead hubs. I feel whole lot better that the nut will not spin inside the hole.
Mike,
When we get together at IRCHA I'll take you to Red Lobster. I know how much you love that place!!!
hehe
Thank you again

Michael, I usually get my engine's and parts from Dave's Discount Motors. Sometimes best to start with a fresh new engine.

Grim, you need to check for air leaks around the spacer block, between the carb and the crankcase.
If the mounting screws are to long - very often the case, then the carb does not sit down properly and it leaks air causing these issues.

Hey Grim, got a question, are you running a PUH or RC Zenoah engine?

Pictures posted show an older Zenoah motor G23, not PUH which does not fit in Vario mechanics.
