Blades.. If you are using the Vario benzin mechanics, I would use the Vario 800mm blades.
That's what I fly on mine after converting to fbl.. StanAMA 2918-Team Spin Blades,,Castle Creations, Unique Aircraft |

I machined a spacer to set the swash on the heli. It totally makes sense to me know.. the 13mm spacing on this machine sets the anti rotation pin in the center of the anti rotation slot. I will have to post a pic.. so simple a cave man could do it. (Now I need to make sure I make them for some of my other setups)Not much to report. I did buy some heat deflecting material for the muffler side of the fuse.. I will likely place a small amount between the muffler and the frame set as well..GrimMichael J Zaborowski Futaba USA AMA 124909 IRCHA 5453 Find me on Parlor |

Mike,
Like almost any heli, the arm length for the tail servo should be what is needed to have the servo travel (set at 100%) be correct when moving from “hover” position to full anti-torque position.
The assumption is that the servo arm and tail pitch change bellcrank are at 90 degrees to the pitch change rod at hover position.Sandy |

Servo Arm Use 17mm from center output shaft to outer hole of arm..
Then check to see if it gives you what Sandy said StanAMA 2918-Team Spin Blades,,Castle Creations, Unique Aircraft |

Very good... thanks all. The servo arrangement was all over the place on this heli. The ball on the tail pitch arm is 25mm from the center of the pivot. (I will start with that there and setup the servo to 17mm)I have a new set of Futaba H700s for this unit and will be using them on everything but the throttle (3070 in that position)I need to order a set of 100mm long 2.5mm pushrods. I see Vario has them so I will get them from there.I have been speaking with Carey Shurley about the engine and he gave it a lean bill of health. We still dont know whos exhaust system that is but OK.. we will give it a go! It is a Vario branded Zenoah G23. 4 bolt jug. I dont have any real concerns about the engine.I still have much to go.. I have the files made to cut the new radio tray but think I will re-think that to hold my ON-OFF switch and CGY-760.. so I think that will be a redo. Thanks again allGrimMichael J Zaborowski Futaba USA AMA 124909 IRCHA 5453 Find me on Parlor |

That is the stock Zimmerman exhaust Vario used to sell for that bird.
We did not like it as it heated the side of the fuselage and made it soft. We started using the 116/95 and that is what Vario sells for the fuse today. |

Copy that.. I put a heat protection pad on the fuse (we will see if it works).. the fuse WAS warped in that area and I straightened it.. so its all making sense now.I was going to attempt to wrap the muffler BUT.. that proved hard to do with the mounting in the way. I will also put a small piece between the muffler and the mechanics. I dont like how close the muffler is to the nylon tail bevel gears.. IF.. I get uncomfortable with this idea. .i will change out the exhaust.. DARRELL!!! ya got one laying around in your pile just in case? Thanks for the help on this.. any and all are very much appreciated!GrimMichael J Zaborowski Futaba USA AMA 124909 IRCHA 5453 Find me on Parlor |
