Hobbywing 100A ESC is not conecting to the programming box
My Hobbywing 100A ESC no longer spools up the Motor. The self test passes and the servos work, which means the BEC is working. The motor does not spool up and the progrmaming box does not want to connect. Has anyone had this happen to them in the past?

Have you tried a different motor? If you have one, give that a try.

Dangerous situation.

Did you check cable and connectors? Data cable posible Cut off...

Did you check if ESC fail to enter to programming menu with the throttle stick full?

Reset the throttle range and program again.

Hello,

I have not tried a different motor, in fact the motor is disconnected from the ESC. So I just connected the flight battery to the ESC and also conected the programming box to the fan port of the ESC. The programming box display has "connecting..." and never connects to the ESC.

stupid question but I will learn from the answer also...

Does the motor have to be connected also at the time you try the esc?

Here is a diagram. You will need to plug the programming box into the computer usb cable first and then plug the battery into the esc.

No. It is not neccesary to connect motor in order to connect the programming box.

Of course, to test the motor, it is a most to have the motor connected.

Hello,

Thanks for the response(s). Right now I am trying to do something simple, just want to get the programming box to connect to the ESC, without the motor. Once I get that done I will obviously need to have the motor connected to the ESC.

Correct.
We understand that.

Asuming both ESC and programming box are OK... I would check that cable and connector... Is there a way you are connecting this thing on reverse polarity?

If you get no response from ESC, your ESC is out!

So, as I mention before, try manual programming...

If still your ESC is not responding... Bad, very bad for your ESC.

Hello,

I had a friend update my programming box and use my cable on one of his Hobbywing ESC's. My programming box and my cable works on his Hobbywing ESC, unfortunately it does not work on my Hobby wing ESC. Therefore it appears to me that my ESC has died. So I ordered two ESC's last nite from Amain. I will let you know what happens when the new ESC's come in.

I always prefer this kind of failure, control electronic on my table and not flying around...

A failure on power section on ESC, always mean fire... With bad consecuences on the model aircraft.
