DFL, it’s been my experience drilling shafts is if the big box store drill bits don’t work. Then you buy a solid carbide drill like in the link. Cuts like butter in most cases. And if you still can’t drill it, then you get some 4140 shaft from mc master carr and make a new shaft, really easy to do.

Call MA Ford and tell them you need a bit like this in 2mm.

Castle Creations ICE HV ESC Recall
Just an FYI, your ESC has been recalled by Castle Creations. You may want to call them and let them know you have the ICE HV ESC so they can have you send it in and receive a new one. They exchanged one for me last year with no problems.

Here's the recall notice:

Uih,

Been working on 76 shaft drive install. Bonded the new structure in today. The overall install went much easier than I thought.

67 drive is on top and 76 on bottom.

Looks pretty good.

Uih,

Oh okay, yeah I remember that recall now, I really don't care because I plan on buying a new one if I keep the heli, I didn't know this ESC was that old until I bought it, I thought it was the edge, I didn't pay attention to what I was getting at the time, my fault. Oh well, going to keep testing with it, I just won't install it in the heli unti I get a new version, or take my chances and see what happens, maybe I got a good one........D. They'll replace it with a new one at no charge. You just have to call them first and send it to them. At least that's what they did for me.

Thanks Gents,

Roy, "Butch" and "Mad skills" should never be used in the same sentence. its right up there with:
Jumbo Shrimp, Known secret, government assistance, pretty ugly, and seriously funny.
