Heli143 Michael, you have done some beautiful work on that 212. Congrats!

btw, what size is that 212?
Thank you.. it was a BLAST to bring back from the state it was in. She had good bones but needed some TLC. Its a Vario 1:7.2.. The mechanics are a miss match of Vario and Airstar and the latter of the two has been the thorn in my side. The machine has hovered "some" but was in no shape to make a flight.. the new head and blades should bring it up to flying condition.

Thank you

I'm working on a 700 JR. I know.. another JR build. Must be a thousand out there. Any how it's a Century / Funkey fuse still in the box for almost 2 years now. Made for a stretched trex 600. Had the mechs flying but had a lean over on landing and needs a little repair. I'm looking at the paint schemes below minus the logos and decals shown. Just something simple.

Man I can't decide, Roban 800 Huey or a Roban 700 Cobra, having a tough time trying to decide, like them both but only can afford one........

I did a LR years ago, Hirobo Evo mechanics converted to electric in a Funkey LongRanger fuselage, flew great.

Well, I have both and they are both excellent fliers. I really like the Cobra cuz battery access is super easy- like a pod and boom. They both have great presence in the air. The Huey is just sooo iconic and with a few tweaks looks great.

Oh boy, that made my decision even worse. I do like the Roban 700 Cobra but then I can't decide between the camo or gray.. If it's the Huey then it's the gray for sure for me, decisions decisionsD. Lee.....t.Born again.t.....

I'm going to finish the Hirobo 47G gas to electric conversion, and then I have a Hirobo electric EC120 on the way. I'm fed up with solving Roban problems and as for Vario, they seem to be producing semi scale kits with parts missing.Peter Wales

Nice thread,

Been in a slump lately but about to get going again.

Had to rebuild air compressor pump. Took some time to get parts so that slowed down the prep for my 67.

I ordered parts to modify my 76 from a flex drive to a torque tube drive. I have never really liked the flex drive on a 45lb heli so that will be a winter project. It will be a pretty big job however I am sure the benefits will out weigh the work required.

Comanche got a rebuild after Dalton. I had a “Gump” day at the field a month or so ago. I had gotten in a flight after all the work and “Homer” was rocking it. The field was pretty busy so as it was spooling down I reached over the head to put my hand on the beanie to slow the head and got a little too close and caught a blade on my pants leg. Not thinking to much about it swapped batts for flight #2 and low and behold, a nice shake. Checked head and looks like it bent one of the axels on the head. New head has been shipped.

So soon hope to be back at it a little more regular.

Will post some 76 mod pics as I move along.
