Upgrade Servos on Trex 700DFC
I had the DS655 and the ds625 with castle 120 align voltage reg on align 800MX. I now have DS 820M, DS 825M with the castle 120 esc and ikon2. I know i dont need the voltage reg, but do i run a 2cell receiver pack to the ikon2? Or do i need a better esc with bec?

ESC with BEC in 700 class?
No way...

It is better to separate both functions. ESC with power batteries and a BEC with proper batteries.

You may landing your 700 class helicopter on fire with a separate BEC.

I agree,the "Castle 120" DOES NOT have a BEC!
You might want to read again the original "POST" to understand.

The question was very clear...

The answer is..
No... You don't need a better esc WITH bec...

You need a ESC and a BEC, separate.

Awesome replys Thanks Heli4fun. I always ran with BEC (Align RCE-B6X)but thats a low voltage regulator. Do they make one for High Voltage. Its like running Receiver Battery to the Ikon without regulator. It's what Bjacks said. Is that what you ment Bjacks was to run the receiver battery to the Ikon with a on/off switch between.

I've been flying heli's since 2004 starting with nitro's using a receiver battery and still do to this day with all my electric 700's.I've never encountered a problem using that method as long as you remember to charge the receiver battery before each day of flying.I use an ec3 connector on two of my electric 700's and one deans connector on the third 700 using a Castle 160HV esc.I don't like using an off/on switch due to it possibly being another point of failure.
Yes they do make HV regulators/BEC but why spend the extra money on that when you can just run straight from the receiver battery(7.4),just ensure the servos are rated HV servos.
Yes,that's what i meant like Bjacks mentioned just keep it simple!
