Is the 400 foot rule only for controlled airspace? Can someone educate me on exactly what controlled airspace is? I thought it was just near larger airports and around military/government installation type places?Fil |

As far as I know controlled airspace is The Whole country from Atlantic to pacific. From the Canadian border to Central America. In other words any air space that the FAA has control of.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2 |

This is a disaster. Those nice molded Electric sailplanes in the hobby room? Pretty much useless now. Maybe even worse is the new topics of nagging from the club safety nazis. |

FAA must be high on something. this is an AIR SPACE grab, like EPA's waters of US grab. Don't forget SAM antiquers, free flight guys, glider guys. Hell, my winch and high starts are set to give me 500-700ft launches with gliders. The 700's doing night flying autos and blades stops are 2-3 times that high.
FAA needs to be challenged hard.RapRexSynLogo Pilot |

This is good news for General Aviation pilots. It decreases the worry from a drone strike while flying. If you want to know some of these answers, you should take Private Pilot or Part 107 training. Rules are enacted for safety. There are more areas of class G uncontrolled airspace than controlled airspace calculated by area. |

The way I see it the only way the FAA can enforce this is through sanctioned events, other than that how are they going to enforce it without a transponder in my back yard. HI... The point here is not how high you fly your RC EQUIPMENT. The point here is the government riding rough shod over a bunch of HOBBIEST’S.trex 700fbl cal30,minititan,, trx600fbl,trex250,logo 500,Velocity N2 |

Exactly, some of us are multi-faceted and fly more than helis, and go back to before the rc helicopter. It's all good, when you are bored with one you have dozens of other aircraft to indulge in up until the FAA grounds all of us except the BEZOS/UPS/FEDEX drone weenies.RapRexSynLogo Pilot |

Fil Everywhere, starting at 1200' or in some areas 700' (generally where there is a nearby airport with an instrument approach). look at a sectional chart, or skyvector.com

400 feet for rc aircraft is plenty high enough Have been using telemetry sensors in my helis for about 6 years now that include a barometer (use them for capacity ,..i.e. fuel guage, but they do a lot of other things that's interesting). flying old school 3d and sport flying, rarely do I land without a max altitude recording over 800 feet, and I'm just flying as I normally do, not specifically trying to fly high high. probably 80% of the time is below 10', and only 5 percent above 400,.. but it's a normal altitude to fly.Gary Wright |

Why do I feel like any law that limits models to 400' will immediately make all modelers criminals? It has the same feel as gun laws that make certain, common, guns illegal. Make the AR-15 illegal and you'll immediately have 5 to 10 million felons. This feels similar."Well, nothing bad can happen now." |
