The case for impeachment or....
Or are we queuing up something out of this world, our first female Potus in 2024. Enduring 16 years of the right will truly commit the left to the asylum.

No matter what flavor of politician you might favor, any person with a brain cannot miss that our Congress, the people who have been elected by us to represent us in the operation of this nation, have accomplished absolutely zero on pressing current national and local issues. No action what so ever on illegal immigration, foreign trade, opioids, foreign drug cartels invading, or a thousand other things that need to be fixed.

Instead, Congress has spent billions of dollars to attack the sitting President without a second thought and without any actionable, provable reason (other than they don't like him). They have done absolutely nothing else. All the political flavors, all the actions, all the money - none of it has done anything to improve or even maintain the life of the average citizen. If an honest, unbiased investigation was performed and each and every sitting congressperson, there is no doubt in my mind that 90% or more would be found guilty of acts that merit jail time. In my opinion, they are all criminals.

Someone on this forum has recently observed that we are becoming a third world nation. From my perspective, that was achieved about twenty years ago. I would not argue if others thought that it happened further back than twenty years. The key feature of a third world nation is a corrupt government. We have that in spades.
The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Helitom, You are correct. They have done absolutely NOTHING but attack the POTUS because their 'candidate' didn't win. I truly hope that Congress is handed back to the Red side of the aisle after this dismal display of childlike attitudes, self servitude, and hate mongering of our POTUS and our way of life. Then again, look how the 'squad' got elected...my hope fades at times...

Utahbob, Tulsi certainly is not ugly, just brain dead.

I find this entire story line fascinating.

Here's a brief (unsubstantiated) bio of Hunter Biden. Read this first...
https://pagesix.com/2017/03/02/ex-c...-hookers-drugs/

So. Our Commander and Chief, President of the United States, supposedly asked the President of the Ukraine to look into a very likely Pay-To-Play scheme involving the ex-Vice President's son, Hunter, and implying the very serious crime of treason - and the person being investigated is NOT Joe Biden and his son, but the President.!.!

I put "supposedly" in italics because at the time of this writing, the "whistle blower" is a complete mystery man. He or she is completely beyond examination for fact and motivation because they haven't been named! For all we know the "whistle blower" is a paid employee of Rashida Tlaib who just released a new fall line of tee-shirts with the slogan "Impeach the MF". https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...rts/3793470002/

You can't make this stuff up. Seriously. This has more twists and turns than a Conan Doyle story. Once I separated myself from the very real and serious nature of the actions of the people involved, this became more entertaining than any who-done-it plot.

Sorry. I have spent far too much time trying to tease this out...

I don't care what party you are, or your political bias, I think there is an agreement that manipulation and abuse of public office for personal gain is not something in America's best interest. "Selling" "America" for individual profit is not what we want from our politicians.

Our current elected President, someone outside traditional political circles, ran on a campaign suggesting he will "drain the swamp", implying other current politicians need investigation. Can I assume that the current "swamp creatures" won't like being investigated (drained)?

I think I can see what is going to happen. Every time the President investigates a politician for abuses, there will be a call for impeachment for overextending his position as POTUS. Joe Biden is possibly the first of many to get caught with his hand in the cookie jar and many lifelong politicians are worried. They would like to put a stop to this type of thing before it becomes a habit.

For instance, if the President were to ever launch a serious inquiry into the proceedings of the Secretary of State during the Obama years (Hillary), it would be enough to simply claim his actions were politically motivated and an attempt to smear a political rival. Rather than label this as "draining the swamp", label it as abuse of power and call for impeachment. In doing this the accuser becomes the accused and likelihood of further Washington "house cleaning" becomes much less possible.

The effect of this is that being a politician shields you from being investigated as doing so is "an abuse of power". Pretty hand I'd say.

In short, they have got to stop the President from calling other world leaders and inquiring about their behavior and political doings.

Again, I'm sorry for rambling. I've put too much though into trying to untangle what I see as bizarre political happenings.

In my opinion Trump has impeached himself. His own words are the proof that he has broken his oath of office. "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". How the hell does using the military hardware allocated for the Ukraine by Congress as a bargaining chip for dirt on Biden square with the oath he took? The Trumpian mentality is that anything he does is Ok. Well it's not."Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground." J. Taylor

They will never do that because they would then have to find yet something else to whine about. Oh, I know, the next revelation will be that the no good Trump ran a red light in 1982.......The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

I think back n the day when people did the job because they wanted to do a service for the country was best. Now it's all for a paycheck or special interest ut seems. All of them lie about what they are going to do while running or if they do what they say then they bail on other stands they may have took to get them in office.
You can't understand the country if you have your own agenda.
Politics are corrupt. People keep believing things will but it never happens. If it's not one politican it will be the other.

You are correct. I served my county certainly not to become wealthy (d@mn far from it), but because I felt it was my duty. How many politicians are now MILLIONAIRES since they took office?

However, our current POTUS, hasn't taken one pay check yet. Why would he? And if I am not wrong, I believe he has donated them all.

Who else in our history of our countries Presidents has done this?

I wish we lived closer. I would like to speak with you over a beer and explore how we looked at the same information and came to such polar opposite conclusions. Please know that I am not judging you. Don't confuse my curiosity as hate. It is simple fascination that two people could look at the information provided and come to conclusions 180 degrees apart.

I have been accused of long posts. It's an accusation I can't deny. These are complex times and posts such as yours can't be debated in a tweet. Again, I wish we lived closer.

Trump should impeach himself? Then Clinton should have castrated himself? Both are politicians and both are liers.
Lies start on the campaign trail to get what they want. Then they do whatever benefits their party or the special interests. Were is the truth and morality in that? Why isn't it impeachable that you dont have a backbone or that you can't control yourself in such an important role for our nation?
REALLY!?!? Why is the house and party lines never crossed to share in support of a president? Let me give you three reasons. > Clinton,Obama and Trump.

The parties never come together, the ignorance of being the smartest kid in the room takes over and the real people of the country suffer the stupidity.
I don't think anyone has a good argument for either Diplomatic party. Class has left the government and dont see any hopes of the return. Unfortunately this is the nation's norm, which is sad.

Judge Judy does not accept hearsay evidence.
Yet you can impeach a president with it???

Laws are changed just before an impeachment action is started to disallow the other party to have a vote or statement???

MSM (CIA directed) tells you only what they want you to hear and many fall for it. Is it working???

Chairman of oversight committee lies and false statements proven, yet he still is in power???

You do not have to be a very smart person to see what is in font of your eyes, unless you don't wan't to see it.

Well perhaps all these blinded people will open their eyes when Hillary loses for the third time.

The Democrats have always accused their enemies of the crimes that they themselves have committed. It is their first line of defense and they are running scared with the DOJ investigating their crimes.
I wonder how they are going to attack the reports that come out about how they have sold out to foreign governments? Lies will only cover so much.
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!
