Align 550X GPro issues please help
Just purchased a used 550X with a Gpro system. Went through complete set up in software. After set up all seems to work as intended. Did a quick hover and all is good. Once I power down the unit and the radio and turning back on the satellite blinks like it’s in bind mode. Heli has no response. I have gone through the set up five times with the same result. What am I missing?

Blinking led on satellite spektrum...

Faint signal... A lot.

1.- Reorient satellite antennas.
2.- run a ferrite ring on bec that supply power.
3.- Do a range check looking for a electromagnetic interference on servos.
4.- avoid pigtail cable arrangement.
5.- Used trex probably was on a crash... Check main rotor bearings... If they are noisy, replace.

No noise, it hovers smooth. Every time I power the helicopter off I have to rebind it.

could be the fbl unit
could be the sat wire
you are using 2 satelites ?
could be software setting
spending time, paying attention

Using 1 sat. Thinking it’s the Gpro. Won’t hold a bind.

You have a single satellite connected?

Is it a DSMx or DSM2 satellite, and are you binding the system by selecting the correct receiver type.

Is your transmitter DSMx compatible?

Binding should be a one and done proposition. It's a receiver thing, not a GPro thing.

Is the LED on the satellite blinking fast, or slow?

Are you setting up using the bluetooth adapter?

On a 550 sized heli, it is important that you use TWO satellite receivers. The receivers both need to be the same type DSMx, or DSM2. NEVER mix DSMx and DSM2 receivers.

Sat is blinking fast. When I select DSMX on set up it won’t bind. When I select DSM2 it will bind. So the satalte must be DSM2. My DX8 is new and is DSM2 or DSMX compatible.

On the set up software it gives you the option to bind to Spekrum DSM2 or DSMX.

For the record --- and to make sure we are on the same planet ---

3GX controller on the left, Gpro on the right. Which one are we talking about?

Update. After binding and software set up. Unplugged heli and it went into bind mode again. I used binde feature in radio and it bound and stayed bound. Video did not show that step. Don’t know if it’s a hiccup or I missed that step the 1st 10 times. Anyway it all good now.

Yes...you use the GPro software initially to put the satellites into bind mode. But then you actually have to tell your transmitter to DO it.

If you don't tell the transmitter to bind, nothing actually happens.
