Quark Gyro
Has anyone used this gyro enough to provide an honest evaluation on its effectiveness. Like to know how it compares to a Futaba 520 gyro. Is it better, worse, or equal. Thanks!

I used it on my Sceadu and want to change out the one on my Freya to one. I love them. Easy set up and it holds the tail perfect. No manual set up in rate mode and then use it. Just set it and forget it.

I have both gyros and I love the quark for ease of setup and solid hold.

Sounds as though both of you are saying it's as good as the 520. The 520 is kind of a pain for me to set up plus I am slightly color blind. Trying to decide whether to get the Quark. Thanks for your input.

I've had both many years ago,the quark was on my Align Trex 600 nitro, the 520 was on my Align Trex 700 nitro.Honestly, they both performed very well, the only advantage the 520 had over the Quark was a very consistent piro rate (even during windy conditions). So,if you're not doing many piro maneuvers go with the Quark as mentioned earlier by others, the Quark is easier to set up.
My opinion,go with the Quark i'm going to assume you're a sport flyer?

More questions
The connectors look different to me. I run an old style JR 10X system. Will this gyro connect with old JR equipment or will I need additional adapter connectors? Also, can you run a 5 cell pack with this gyro? Thanks again!

One connection to the servo, two to the receiver. One goes to rudder channel and the other goes to one of the aux channels to switch from heading hold to rate mode, if you so desire. I have one on my JR X9303 and would work on an 8103.
