Recommended 4-Blade Head
Folks,
I'd like to add a 4-bladed head to my Agusta A109. I'm using X-Cell mechanics converted to electric, which has worked out very well. I didn't convert the mechanics to CCPM, so I'm using the original four point swashplate and would like to retain that, so additional modifications wouldn't be necessary.

The old MA mechanics use a 10mm mainshaft, so I've been looking for a suitable head. I'm currently swinging old 700mm V-Blades @ 1550 RPM and would like to use 680mm-690mm blades on the new head. I understand I'll have to replace the motor for a lower Kv one to get the headspeed down.

Here are the heads I've found, that don't break the bank:

Vario: https://www.vario-helicopter.biz/us...mm::100848.html

Roban: https://www.motionrc.com/products/r...torhead-v2-10mm

Double Cats: https://www.double-cats.com/index.p...4&product_id=56

Double Cats "Monster:" https://www.double-cats.com/index.p...4&product_id=59

Are there any you'd recommend or not recommend for 680mm-690mm blades? I like the Double Cats "Monster" head, but it looks like the heavy duty ball links wouldn't work on a standard X-Cell swashplate. The links would need to be modified, I'm thinking.

Any thoughts on the above heads or others you have used and that are still available?

Thank you,
-Kevin

Thank you, Michael. What specifically are the issues with the DC heads? Bad tolerances? Machining issues? All that shiny aluminum looks so nice, but if it doesn't perform...-Kevin

I agree with mike in the vario head but ive also dealt with the roban head u have pictured with excellent results and its a bit cheaper plus the xcell's control system will work well so you wont have to worry about phasing or having to get a swash driver.drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Thanks guys. I forgot ProModeler has a 4-Blade head, too. I'm using some of John's servos in a couple other models and am happy with them. I'll check out their rotor head. Looks like MotionRC is out of stock on the Roban head, currently. I'll look at Vario, too. Thanks again!-Kevin
