Welcome to 3rd World Politics...Officially!
So, this Andrew Yang is trying to give 10 families a $1000 a month to prove his 'universal basic outcome' can work.

My wife will become a US Citizen this Thursday, and I am very, very proud of her! She is from the Philippines. As some of you may already know, during almost all political campaigns in the PI (as I am sure in other countries as well), it is very common for those running to either hire people(or just do it themselves)to stand out in front of the voting polls and pass out money (peso's). I won't even go into candidates disappearing, etc.

So back to this candidate, Andrew Yang. He has insisted that his 'army' of lawyers have assured him that this is perfectly legal.

So again, fellow Americans, welcome to 3rd World Politics. If we were not there already, we are now.

Just think of California and what's going on there. Starting to look like a third world country. Think it can't happen where you live?. Just let the Dems win in 2020 and everyone will soon be in the same boat.If it isn't beating the air up it isn't flying

The problem he is we are preaching to the choir here. The 2nd problems is you cannot fight the free $hit society. The Guberment has laws about feeding bears... but yet they do the same to their own people. You have seen the top of the mountain and you know what runs down hill into Venezuela that is where we are headed.

I'm always fascinated by people that leave their home country to come to America, presumably to live as Americans (whatever that is), but then immediately work to turn America into the country they just left. If you want to live like a Somali, Haitian, German, Filipino, Puerto Rican, Dutch, Mexican, etc, etc, stay there. Rather than turn America into Haiti, simply stay in Haiti."Well, nothing bad can happen now."

You see the same thing in the states when people move from one state, because of high taxes and low freedom, and then immediately try to make their new state into the same thing that they just fled.

Must be a psychological problem of some sort.
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

I left the country i was born in (Philippines) in 1967 at the age of 5 years old with 3 brothers younger than me,we arrived in San Francisco Ca and registered to enroll in school. My father was a merchant marine and served for 20 years before he retired and brought the whole family to america (my father "earned" his right to bring us here) to become "americans" he always told us to strive to become a respectful american no matter what.I can remember every morning my father would listen to the radio (while cooking breakfast for us kids) about the latest news about the vietnam war going on in the late 60's.My brothers and i (during the 60's) had a rough experience attending school due to our lack of the english language,we were ridiculed to no end,in some cases it resulted in actual fist fights for me and my brothers only to defend ourselves.Years passed, and we eventually learned the english language proficiently (enough to talk **** right back at you!!!) if necessary, heck we learned the english language so well that in our adult years,we have lost the ability to speak our filipino language and feel very much out of place when we meet other filipino families (we just nod, shake our heads and smile).
My brothers and i grew up in a decent neighborhood {predominantly caucasian)
so we were exposed to the american culture throughout our whole lives. My parents had two more children (2 daughters) and now we are all adults in our 50's who are law abiding, tax paying, hard working, respectful american citizens with professional careers of this great country!
Sure,as we grew up we experienced the racial behavior towards us from hostile americans, but we learned to be better than that and look beyond that (for no one is perfect). To this very day,the american kids we grew up with and became friends with are now our "close" family friends who i know would would have my back if i needed them and i would do the same.
In closing,my family and i have no "INTENTIONS" whatsoever to turn this country into the country we left behind.

heli4fun... You, more than anyone, will understand what I meant in post 5. I too am from a family of immigrants. In the 1800's my family fled persecution and starvation. They came here as indentured servants (slaves) for the opportunity for a better life. Like your family, my ancestry worked hard to become "Americans". My comments were not directed at you or any single individual.

My comments were directed at immigrants that don't follow the path you've chosen. A quick Google of "Somali Gangs" will bring up a raft of articles similar to these:

https://pjmedia.com/michaelwalsh/so...s-do-something/

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/40073234/...s/#.XZDG8kZKjhc

I'm not specifically picking on Somalis. I chose them because they left a place that most would agree is not worth recreating and have worked harder than many other immigrant groups to import the very culture they left.

Please recognize that I am speaking in generalities. Before someone jumps up and says they are from Somalia and proceeds to explain why they are a model American, I need to point out (again) that I'm not speaking to or about "an" individual. To quote myself (sorry)

Cheers. I felt the need to clarify. As a white male I can hardly utter the word "immigrant" without being labeled a fascist and hater.
