Regardless of cost, which 500+ size (505 to 520mm blade) BRAND is most durable or crash resistant
I've heard of:
Gaui X5 V2 belt
ALZRC 505
Oxy 5
Align

I was leaning to X5 V2 belt until the new Oxy 5 came along recently, more expensive but built to last, is this true if someone 'fortunately' went thru the experience?

The Oxy 5 can run blades that small, but really it is more designed for 550+ blades. I can tell you my unfortunate crash experience with the Oxy 5, it’s a tank. Had my ESC die leading to complete shutdown of the radio system about 200ft up the n the second flight of my Oxy 5. Fell down hard enough to bounce about waist high. Total damage aside from blades and some minor canopy damage was $26. All 4 lower carbon frames broke at $6.50 each. That’s it.

I can’t recommend the Oxy 5 enough. Not only does it fly perfectly and builds easy, parts are cheap and it is built tough.

wow that is amazing! Sorry to hear about your mishap with the new bird. It definitely looks very sleek and light to me. Which blade sizes you running with? motor, servos, esc and controller? I picked the Rotor Tech 560mm, Rail 96mm, are these the best match in size? Scorp motor, KST BLS815 cyclic, KST BLS805X tail, HW 100A (those from Helidirect bundle deal) and either BeastX Plus v4.2 or Ikon2 which I already have (or even blue K bar).

Eh, it happens. I had RT560s on it at the time with a Tribunus 120, KST X15 mini servos, Xnova 4020-1200 and vbar Neo. Now it’s got Rail 556, YGE 135LVT and Xnova 4025-1120 in it. It’s an awesome heli aside from the narrow landing gear, but they have a conventional wider plastic gear coming soon.

If you haven’t bought everything yet, I’d get mini servos to save weight (along with the mounts to fit them), and definitely a bigger ESC. I see peaks of 200+ amps and I am not flying super aggressively.

Plastic is more resistant than metal or carbon fiber... So...

My kind of heli... Thunder tiger raptor 30...

Hard to kill.

At this time? Align trex... It is easy to get spare parts...

crash resistance and durability all have their origin in first learning your orientation skills and ability to recovershowing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

What? 200A ESC on a 500+ size? Do you run Rx and servos on a separate battery?

200 amps peak...

It difficult to have a heli to handle a crash and resist on this severe condition...

Worry about a crash?
Get another heli as a spare bird!

That’s a peak for a fraction of a second, it’s not sustained and does not mean you need a 200a ESC. I use the built in BEC on my YGE, I’d do the same with a HW or Tribunus.
