hgh001 Hi,

When is release of the new models anticipated?

Regards,
As far as I know the Eagle 4 will be available this fall season. The Gigas 600E is already released and can be purchased. The D3/V3 and the Shuttle Plus 2 is still TBA.

Not sure about their production version, but from the pictures, they abandoned the push pull mechanism in the Eagle 4.

I much prefer push pull.

I recently decommissioned my D3v2 as I had finally had enough of it. The v2 was extremely fast but otherwise a pretty poorly thought out helicopter which loved to vibrate and was difficult to work on. The carbon frames are thin and no where near the quality of a Quest. I much preferred my Freya Evo. The v3 seems quite disappointing as it really doesn’t provide any sound justification for buying.
Quest NEO Caliber ZG, Zenoah G260PUH, CGY750, NHP 750, NHP 115.
JR Propo Ergo 30, OS 32SX-H, Edge 550, Edge 90.

Did you use a 105?

Yes I used both a short shaft 105 and normal. I’ve really never enjoyed the 105 as they are really only suited to high throttle and high power operation. I’ve owned 3. I really wish we could have the option of an OS 60 or 70 for those of us who just fly around for fun. Flying around at low throttle all day makes tuning more difficult than it should be. Imagine if car ownership was like RC helicopters. We could only buy highly tuned F1 cars. It’s just silly.Quest NEO Caliber ZG, Zenoah G260PUH, CGY750, NHP 750, NHP 115.

I have a 91 in mine. Much smoother engine. Actually the V1 was as trouble free a heli as Hirobo built.

I actually should have bought a V1 but it was more expensive. I believe the v1 is a higher quality helicopter. The v2 is incredibly tail heavy. I would have loved an E3 VPUS as it is more my kind of helicopter but exorbitantly expensive especially when compared to a Caliber 90 or 120.

I wish Hirobo luck but feel they may struggle to gain traction now outside of Japan.

A couple of years ago I decided to explore other brands, sold my 2 Freyas and Sdx. Went from nitro to electric and eventually bought myself a Freya, Turbulence D3 v1 and SDX again, all nitro.

Quality and durability of Hirobo is in a league of its own.

Dominik has done a lot for Hirobo, they had a significant market share at the time. I still don’t understand what happened, and why they became stagnant.

I really hope Hirobo is able to get a share back of the current competitive market.

I’ll remain a loyal supporter, hopefully they will be supporting my models for many years.

I think they quite wisely stopped development of new models when the hobby started slowing down. Other brands expanded like super novas, eventually imploding. The great thing about Hirobo (and a few other brands) is that helicopters aren’t close to being their main business, thereby surviving the quiet periods.Quest NEO Caliber ZG, Zenoah G260PUH, CGY750, NHP 750, NHP 115.

People want new. It's the latest and greatest mentality. Most of which don't realize, they did it to themselves.

Here's the current information regarding the upcoming Eagle 4 WC kit from Hirobo Facebook page.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?st...575330&sfnsn=mo

Apparently the MSRP price of the kit will be 225000 Yen. So in terms of currency exchange to our dollar amount you are looking at $2200.

Here's the photo of the final production Hirobo Eagle 4 WC RC Helicopter. The new canopy design looks sleeker and better than the previous one.

Shipping will start on September 30. You can pre-order them through your local Hirobo distributor like RC Japan and TMRF, Germany.

Wow, kinda like the canopy. Now having seen the whole thing, it looks as nice as the Prodrone or Quest offerings per the release pics you referenced anyways!

TMRF Germany has posted the new Hirobo Eagle 4 WC SSL-II Kit. Looks like they are getting ready to accept pre-orders.

Here's the official photo of the production version of the Eagle 4 WC SSL-II F3C Competition RC Helicopter.

With all of this new stuff coming out, will hirobo still produce the Freya or will it be finally superceded by the D3?
Thanks!

I do believe the Freya is just a nitro. I see there are three versions available on RCJapan. As for it's continuation someone else may be able to answer that better. I guess it depends on the nitro market.

Do you have a link to a reseller?

I am still flying my 1995 Hirobo Sceadu and its well worn and I would like to retire it in one piece.

This is fantastic news! I was just looking at the offerings from Prodrone and Quest and they are all around the same price as the new Eagle 4.
I owned two Eagle II EXs years ago and loved those machines. I just could stand the thought of using them for 3D, but now I’m very interested in contest work and that’s why I was looking at the Prodrone machines.
I still fly my SDX, Frey’s Evo and Turbulence helicopters - perfectly reliable!!
I think an Eagle 4 is on the cards for me in 2020.

I was informed that RCJapan.net will not be selling the Eagle 4 WC SSL-II kits. Only international seller for the kit will be TMRF. Otherwise this kit is available for purchase through local hobby stores in Japan.

Here's a quick video of the Eagle 4 WC SSL-II RC helicopter posted in Hirobo Facebook page.
