JR 11x DSM questions Its been a while since I have spent much time on the sticks of a radio. I now have my Phoenix sim loaded back into my daily use PC. Have my 11X connected through a Sim Stick. That is bringing back some muscle memory of flying, feels pretty good. I was never that great of a pilot to begin with so it shouldn't be hard to get back to that level.
As for the topic of this thread, My 11X DSM is one of the first 11X's with the pre DSMX protocol. My 550 size electric helicopter has a HC 3SX with 2 satellites connected. Just getting back into the hobby, what I am wondering is should I purchase a different radio for actually flying models and use the older 11X for the sim? Is it ok to use my older radio to fly a model? Can my radio be upgraded to DMSS? I also need a TX battery to replace the NiCd, any suggestions on lipo replacement? So being on DSM 2, is there a greater risk of having my signal disrupted potentially causing a failure? Battery replacement suggestions? Trex 550 V2 (18) Shuttle ZXX Freya Xspec (20) |
